I bought this book because it was another of Mosley's non-Easy Rawlins books. The first I ever read of his was "The Man in my Basement" and I thought it was outstanding. Subsequent ones, like the Easy Rawlins books, were so different than that and not as appealing to me. So, along comes "The Wave" and I know it will be unique. This might be a little too unique! It is very sci-fi, interesting characters and decent writing but you have to be able to get into the genre. I did to a degree. One of the reviewers calls it "Part utopian fantasy, part nightmare..." That sounds about right.

When I read this book I don't think I was prepared for the type of book that it turned out to be. It was nothing like Mr. Mosley's other books that I have read. Sci-fi...a little "Fringe"y.
