A book I ordered recently was turned down due to my RC's.  Not a problem at all.   I really want the book despite it possibly smelling of smoke, but since there's only one copy in the system I can't order it from the same person again.  Can't put it on my WL either.  Is there a way I can still order the book?

You can go into your transaction archive and find out who had your request and send them a pm.  Perhaps they would be willing to work something out with you.  I once had someone turn down my request because of my RCs (That books meet PBS guidelines) and I asked her if she would do a deal, and I would order a book off her shelf if she would send it to me as a freebie, if it was unpostable.   She agreed.

When I've had someone turn down a book because of RCs it doesn't show up in my Archive transaction file.  How does it in yours?  Am I doing something wrong?  Pat

Have you tried reordering it? I think that you are in one of those situations that the can't order thing breaks down, when there is one copy in the system. I'd try turning your RCs and reordering it. If it won't go through you can always buddy someone else a credit to order it for you, then have them send it to you by using the alternate address option. You are certainly welcome to PM me your mailing info and I'd do it for you.

No Pat you are not doing someting wrong, a declined RC does not show up in the transaction archive, only cancelled trans do. The person must have accepted and then cancelled for her so it looks like an RC turn down.

Well, at the time I ordered that book, I had looked at the profile of the person while I was waiting for it to be requested.  She had a pretty unique name, so I remembered it. 

I just had an RC denied today, and you are right it's not in the transaction archive.

Thanks for all your suggestions.  I was able to find the person by trying to reorder the book, getting her name and PM'ing her through the member directory.  Now I'm waiting to hear back.  : )  Yeah!
