When you receive a book there are two checkboxes, for TBR and bookshelf/hold, that are always checked. I don't use the TBR list, nor do I want my books to be on my bookshelf until I'm ready to send them out. Is there any way to change the default so that I don't have to uncheck those options every time I mark a book received? (Probably not, I'm guessing, but it rarely hurts to ask.) TIA.

Unfortunately, no. We gotta uncheck the boxes manually.

You could suggest that to the PBS Team, Laura.  Not a bad idea.  There's a red sticky thread at the top of the Club Members' Thoughts forums for suggestions, or you can go to the bottom right corner of any page, and under "company" click on "contact us."  Use the Feedback option there.

Thanks. Good idea to send feedback to the PBS team - I have no idea if anyone else would wish for such a feature, but it couldn't hurt!

I'd wish for it, I uncheck both boxes every single time too!  I guess it's not a huge deal but if there were a way to change the default I would do it.

I don't mind the defaults, but I can see where it might come in handy, were we able to decide on the defaults ourselves. I use the TBR, if for no other reason than to remind me that I've already got a copy of a given book. I don't mind the books going on my bookshelf, since I don't use mine anyway, so they can sit there all they want lol

The books go on your private bookshelf, not public bookshelf - I think.

I believe you are right, Adrienne.  The books stay hidden on your bookshelf until you are actually ready to post them.

The book goes on your bookshelf on hold. It is not seen on the public shelf. This is to make it easy to repost books. You do not enter the FIFO lists until you un-hold the book.

This data is also what is used for the estimates. I think if you change the setting, then that book loses it's estimates on the WL. So not an issue on non-WL books...
