I just got notification that a children's book I ordered for a friend of mine (in MT) is on its way to me in (CA). I clearly remember choosing alternate address and also typing in a personal note. Is there any way for me to check my original request? I do remember reading of others of you that had requested a book for a friend or relative only to have it sent to you. Thank you!

If you go to your main account page and click on the "1 book en route to you" link, it should take you to the transaction.  Click on the "details" box and the address it's being mailed to will come up.  (I'm assuming that's where you'd find it.  I just checked the details on the book that's on its way to me and it said "To:  and my name and address."

Thank you, BookwormKath (I like your username :) It shows the book coming to me :/ I am not finding a way for me to actually go back and check my original request for the book (when I designated my friend's address as where I wanted the book mailed and also included a brief note). I may just contact PBS and ask them.

I have found that if I put in a friend's name and address where I want the book mailed, but then look to see if the member has other books I want, then the name and address defaults to me again. It's no hardship for me since I order books for a friend in the neighborhood, but i would be frustrated in your situation when I wanted it mailed to a completely different address.

Sally, you are sweet to order for friends close to you :) It does seem like the sytem overlooked my request on where I wanted the book sent. The only thing I am thinking of is maybe I did enter in my friend's address and also personal message but forgot to actually check the circle (to indicate send book elsewhere). Not sure how/why I would do that, was just a thought. The sender is in KS and friend in MT and I remember being thankful the book would get to her quicker than it would have to me here in CA. I did contact PBS last night and I will post when I hear back from them.

yep, what Sally said does happen to me too.  but several members have reported the problem you described so think it's a site issue this time.

I think it is, Jeanne. I'm sorry that happened also to you but glad you did find another book like Sally did so that worked out. I will be much more alert about this now and hope PBS fixes it. I have not heard back from them or the sender yet.

I had this same problem starting on Feb 4, and it didn't stem from the action of checking the other member's Bookshelf first. The system just defaulted to  my address.  I've reported it to PBS and am still waiting for a response. Once I found the problem (4 packages arrived the same day which should have gone elswhere), I explored other requests made the same day. It's possible to manually change the address back again so long as the other member hasn't printed the mailing label yet. Now I check as described above as soon as the request is posted.

I have yet to hear back from PBS myself about this. Oh wow, I'm sure sorry you had 4 packages that went to you instead of to the friend you ordered the books for, Mary. I will always keep an address eye out now. I sur ehope PBS resolves this soon and does let us know as well. I will post if/when I hear back and please any of you do the same so we can all know.

Just rec'd an Email from PBS last night saying that the address problem has been fixed. Don't have a test case right now, but should have one soon, so we'll see.

I accepted a WL offer on 2/11/16 and entered the addy to have it sent to my DS.  It appears to be going there so I do think it is fixed.

Re my message this morning, I had a test case appear tonight, and everything worked fine for sending to a friend.
