Just found this forum and had an interesting thought.  Is there any way to find PBS members who have lots of homeschool books to swap?  (Yes, I browsed some of your listings, ladies!)

I know we can search for specific titles, but I was wondering if there's any way to figure out who's got LOTS to swap.  (Although after four years of the Tapestry of Grace curriculum surely there's not going to be THAT many more books I'll need to get...  :-))

Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Vicki

Only way I could think of is to go to advanced search and search a publisher if you're looking for curriulum.  Otherwise, i think you'd need to know the name of the book you're looking for, but I'm new so i could be wrong!

Well, there's also the tag system. It's too new (even newer than me!!) to be too much help yet, but I've had some luck with it. Just tag anything and everything you see and soon enough it should be really helpful. I hope. :)

Someone could start a topic like "I HAVE HOMESCHOOL BOOKS" and then whoever has homeschool books could post in that topic.  If people were specific, it would help others find what they need.  Like, "I have homeschooling books for 2nd & 4th grades."  or "I have homeschooling books based on Konos book #1" or "i just posted a bunch of early readers."  That way someone looking for 2nd grade books knows to look at your listed books and perhaps they can find something they're looking for.  Plus, they'll be able to PM you and ask what you thought of specific books or curriculum they’re looking at.

You can search by genre and select homeschooling:

I think the idea is to find people who perhaps have a lot of what you need, so you could order a bunch of books from the same person (thus saving them shipping costs?)  more than just finding books about homeschooling.  Perhaps i'm mistaken though.

I like Matte's idea of specifically posting what you have.  That would be helpful.  Maybe the tags would do something similar, but right now I haven't taken the time to figure out what that's all about.

I like the  idea of a thread to post what you have avaliable that might be a way to save some time searching and I never have enought time so anything to help that problem sounds great. I have quite a few homeschool books on my shelf but they just sit there,  I'm sure someone could use them maybe they are too hard to find. I'm looking forward to whatever solution might come about.

I am kinda new to homeschooling so sometimes I don't really know when I see a book if it's a homeschool book or not???

I have a few things on my shelf too.

I also just added some things, I have lots of books that I purchased at a Christian School Library sale so they had K-12 stuff.

Take a look,
