There are 5 copies of a book I want to order.  I looked through the shelf of the person who has the first available book and they don't have any other books I want.  In order to save postage for the sender, I like to order several at a time when I can.  That made me wonder if there's a way to find all 5 of those copies and order directly from someone who has several books I'd like.  I realize that goes against the FIFO system, and I'm not trying to devise a sneaky way around that, just thinking that it might benefit us all if there was an easy way to find someone with multiple books we'd like.  I'm a boxer, so I did check the Box-O-Books section and it's not listed there.

Thanks!

There is not, essentially I assume, because if there was FIFO would be constantly superseded.

No, there's no way to find out the members that have a particular copy of a book.

You may be able to find some other copies of the book if you use the Box-O-Books search. You don't have to be a member to use the BoB search. Once you have the nicknames of the members who are Boxers and have the book you want, then you can use the Member Directory to look them up and see what else is on their shelves.

She already said she check the boxer shelves.

THere is a 1 hrs buyer's remorse hold. You might be able to order the 1st copy and then open anotehr PBS window and try ordering the book again.

When I have more than 1 book I want to order, I will sometimes order 1 in one window and the other in anotehr window then check out their shelves.

Another thing to try is that if there are certain books you are looking for (that aren't WL) you put them in your signature or post in teh book bazaar that you are looking for x books.  You might even get lucky and get offered a deal from someone who has more than 1.

If it's not a wl book,  ask who has that book in the bazaar...

Thank you all for your help!  I didn't know about the 1 hr buyer's remorse option.

I haven't used the Book Bazaar much, so didn't know I could request a book there like that.  What a great idea!

Thanks again!

I thought PBS only let you order one of the same book at a time? Am I  mistaken?

Nancy, I think she means more than 1 different book, not more than one of the same book. That way she can order book A in one window and book B in the other. You are correct that it would not work in trying to order the same book twice, the system doesn't allow it.

The buyer's remorse doesn't show the request to the sender for an hour, but it does show as a request on the requester's page so there wouldn't be an opportunity to place 2 requests on the same book.
