I posted a recipe and someone posted a comment to it, asking a question about the preparation.  Unfortunately, this person doesn't have a PM.  I replied inside the recipe. 

The person's name was listed but no nickname.  Also,no link on her name, so I couldn't add her to my buddy list to send her a PM to answer her question directly.  Is there anything else I could have done in this situation, besides just replying inside the recipe?

If there is no PM button under their name like yours and mine have right now, then no.  Most likely the person doesn't have a profile yet.

In the Forum, there should be a PM under everyones name, even if they don't have a Profile.  I just checked out some names without profiles here and they all have PM's. 

Unless the person has PM'd you, been referred by you, had a transaction with you, or has posted in the forums. No. If you know them personally, they will have to PM you first before you can PM them.
