This is a really good book to have for those who are interested in 20th century history, younger people who might be interested in how their recent ancestors lived, and writers of historical fiction. It neatly summarises most of the important aspects of life and how they've changed since 1900, such as travel, work, leisure, food, marriage, music, films, clothing, housing, religion, medicine, technology, and education. Important figures in all of these fields are covered, both the well-known names such as Dr. Jonas Salk, The Beatles, FDR, Billy Graham, and Teddy Roosevelt.
