I just got a book that I marked as received OK before I took the plastic wrap off of it. Now that I have the plastic wrap off, I am hit in the face with the smell of urine - I'm assuming cat or pet. The last few pages and back cover have yellow liquid stains on it and when I put my nose to it, I almost dropped over from reek of urine. I would have marked this RWAP but now that I've already marked it OK, is there any way to rescind that? I did contact the other member to let her know about this and I did ask for my credit back. This is going in the garbage immediately, but I'm wondering if there is any way to rescind??

I could be wrong, but I think that once you mark it in good condition, there is no way to change it. frown

I've had that happen to me.  I marked a book in good condition the other day but didn't check it well. It had water damage & so now I can't repost it.  That exact same thing has happened to me twice now.  You'd think I would have learned the first time!

yep, this has been discussed before here in the forums when people didn't flip through a  book before marking it received in good condition. And be sure to use good lighting when you look cause light highlighting or pencil marks may not be visible in dim light.

But no, once marked, there's no way to change it in the system.

Thank you Amber and Jeanne for your answers. Fortunately, this swapper was very good about it - she apologized immediately and gave me 3 credits back. I told her that was very generous and not necessary but she obviously felt bad about it. So different than any other time I've received a book in unpostable condition and the swappers would argue with me that I was lying and that the book I took pictures of even to show them a cleaved binding was not the book they sent. What a relief this transaction turned out to be. Unfortunately, it was a WL book so now I'm back on the list again to wait.

Well, that was nice of her to do!  I try to do my best with checking books before I send them but sometimes small mistakes can be missed.  At least she was willing to fix the problem without giving you a hard time about it.  It's nice to know there are some good people here on PBS! yes

How thoughtful, glad you have a satisfactory resolution.
