The author presents short teacher/student lessons with a larger amount of time talking about what the lessons are trying to teach. The teacher is Merlin and the student is the young King Arthur with infrequent descriptions of Arthur as an adult. When reading about Merlin teaching Arthur something, I cannot help think about the Disney movie "The Sword in the Stone;" a somewhat playful attitude is maintained throughout the book. The lessons are pretty good and definitely echo, implicitly, or explicitly, spiritual life lessons from Buddhism, Taoism and Christianity. The lessons seem to focus around encouraging the reader to separate oneself from society's demands, attachments and cultural norms.
Wonderful book! Hard to understand at first, but once you really think about it, it all makes perfect sense. Such great wisdom from Deepak Chopra!
Chopra really knows his stuff!
Note: The description says this book is hardback. It is not. The picture is the same, but it is a paperback book. I did not have a choice to select paperback.
