From behind her opaque veil, Chastity listed to Dr. Douglas Farrell's distressingly unromantic requirements for a wife, wealth and social status. Her instinct was to refuse a man with such mercenary intentions. But she couldn't turn away a paying client. Obviously, if the tall, muscular, dark eyed physician had wanted a love match, he'd have found one himself. Yet the truth about the pragmatic doctor is one that could very well turn her head and steal her heart, providing she discovers it before its too late. At the age of 35, Douglass Farrell was ready to sacrifice his bachelorhood for his true passion, caring for the poorest of London's poor. But his dream requires captial. For that, he is convinced he needs a wealthy, well conneced wife. Anf for that, he needs the services of one mysteriously disquised, peculiarly accented, increasingly captivating, woman who will reveal herself only as the Mayfair Lady.

Third in a trilogy - good read, need to read The Bachelor List & The Bride Hunt first to fully understand all the relationships! I normally do not read historical romance but enjoyed this trilogy.

From behind her opaque veil, Chastity Duncan listened to Dr. Douglas Farrell's distressingly unromantic requirements for a wife; wealth and social status. Her instinct was to refuse a man with such mercenary intentions. But she couldn't turn away a paying client. Obviously, if the tall, muscular, dark-eyed physician had wanted a love match, he'd have found one himself. At the age of 35, Douglas Farrell was ready to sacrifice his bachelorhood for his true passion-caring for the poorest of London's poor. But his dream requires capital. For that, he is convinced he needs a wealthy, well connected wife. And for that, he needs the services of one mysteriously disguised, peculiarly accented-increasingly captivating- woman who will reveal herself only as the Mayfair Lady.

The last dazzling finale of the anonymous Duncan sisters as they continue to earn a living - and a reputation - with their clandestine matchmaking service.

Definitely read at least one of the books from the trilogy before this one. I haven't read the second one but I did the first. It gives you a good background on the girls and the "The Mayfair Lady."

Even though I liked the first one in the series, I really thought this one was lighter and more fun. Chastity and Douglas were very playful together. This one was less political and more personal.

There were a few things I wanted more of: The ending I thought needed more closure. Being a trilogy I expected to revisit the other sisters a bit more as well. I also wished more time was spent on the Contessa. She was a little too much like wallpaper. I was curious to know what type of wonderful woman would actually raise such a horrible daughter.

But overall, it was a great read. Light and easy.

Third in a series dealing with the youngest sister Chastity. The first 2 can be found in one volume together if you look around... it will save you a credit to order it that way!
