Does this mean my daughter's laptop has a virus?  Almost every post on here today has one word underlined twice in bold green font.  I have never seen this before and can't imagine you all ganged up to punk me!

Sounds like you have some ad-ware.  Try running Malware Bytes.

What Mary said yes  I got this on my computer once, but fortunately was able to find a way to turn it off or un-install ti (don't remember which).  Check your 'Programs' list and see if you can find what was installed recently and uninstall if you don't recognize it.

PS - IIRC the green or underlined words were actually links to another site?  Advertising?  Something like that....maybe word definitions and it was a dictionary program?

If you suspect an adware, spyware or malware problem, Malwarebytes is a good resource to try.

www.malwarebytes.org

Malwarebytes is free, easy to use, scans for problems and potentially unwanted programs, and has good help documentation to assist you with removing unwanted or malicious software from your computer.

I'm using Win 7 64-bit and have Malwarebytes installed.  No problems. Which Microsoft OS?  If the infection is very bad, you might want to download and then install in safe mode.

Mary, that's the msg I got when I tried to run the software.  Hubby found one specifically for Apple products and that worked.
