Hi again,

I don't know how to fix my question!!  My mom is in assisted living and she reads a lot of books.  She wants to read something in a great romance that is just a great romance book without a lot of sex.  LOL!   One of her favorite all time books was Nakoa's Woman - can't remember the author.  Thanks for any help you guys.  Dianne

Nakoa's Woman is by Gayle Rogers. I loved that book. It was recommended to me when I first joined PBS. I'll have to get back to you on a suggestion. Most books I've read have a lot of sex ;)

Thanks Tracey.  I know what you mean.  Most of mine do, too.  And, she is 80 and says she doesn't need to read it...  My mom is a blast.

Tracie Peterson, Beverly Lewis and Lori Wick all write sweet romances( some are religious). LaVyrle Spencer, who is one of my favorites, has alot of good romances without heavy sex. I highly recommend " Morning Glory" and "Years".

Curtiss Ann Matlock- another favorite of mine. " Driving Lessons" and "Lost Highways" are both very good.

best one I ever read was Outlander, but it did have some steam. If you like action/adventure, I recommend Canham's the Last Arrow (absolutely outstanding & based on the Robin Hood legend; concentrates on Robin's sister Brennna), but it was steamy.  IMHO a romance without steam is like a day without sunshine.

All about romance has a special titles listing ("one foot on the floor" I believe) of non-steamy romances.

Outlaw's Embrace by Francine Rivers. There is one sex scene if I remember but it's not very graphic.  It's an older romance and was WL when I posted it here last month.  I'm almost sorry I let it go but I wanted to share the book.  I found it on Ebay as part of a book lot.

I second Outlander (Diana Gabaldon) and it is a series of 6 books, each being between 800-1000 pages, so it would keep her occupied for a long time.  There is some sex in there, but it is tastefully done and not really the main point but just part of the story unlike some boooks that are sex with a little story thrown around it :  )

Dee Henderson is great - she has an O'Malley series and an Uncommon Heroes series that I love.  Teri Blackstock writes some good ones - her Restoration series is good.   Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series is wonderful - some sexual scenes but only sporadic, definitely not an "integral" part of the series.  Debbie Macomber...Robyn Carr...Lori Copeland...Sara Donati...Jillian Hart - all good authors to try.

What about Lynn Kurland?  Or Catherine Anderson?  They both write touching stories with lots left to the imagination...

So I just sent off Confessions of a Viscount by Shirley Karr and I thought of this post. If I remember correctly there isn't a lot of sex in that book. Some kissing but they don't do the deed until the end after they are married and it wasn't very graphic.
