A good romance novel comes with the best sex. most books i read does come with hot steamy sweaty sex but some dont. it just sucks the fun out of it when the story is super romantic but no physical attraction involved. now dont be mistaken, i dont read the books for the sex. theres a fine line between mindless sex and pure passionate love making which has much more meaning.

hopefully i get alot of opinions/recommendations for the best romance novel with the best sex

plz and thank u

what have you read and liked so far? I'm taking it that you're not looking for erotic romance but rather a nice romance that just happens to have some hot nookie in it as well?!

I have always loved Catherine Anderson's Phantom Waltz because the sex in it is IMO realistic, yet hot and romantic.  There are a few scenes that make me LOL yet cringe in slight embarassment.  You'd have to read it to understand, but a hint is that heroine is a paraplegic and that plays a major part of the whole intimacy interaction.

I really loved the sex in Secrets of Surrender by  Madeline Hunter.    It was real and sensous and the couple started out with a marriage of convenience, not desperately in love and lust.  Their sex life helped them to fall in love.  And the Hero really turned me on.

Edited to add:    Elizabeth Hoyt's Prince trilogy is pretty hot too.  Raven Prince, Leopard Prince and the Serpent Prince.   I liked that the sex wasn't all stars and roses for these couples.

Wow! What a question! Since you're very young, I'm going to make a wild assumption that you'd prefer contemporary and paranormal stories rather than historical or regencies.

I'd suggest anything by LORA LEIGH. She's written many series and most of her books are WL'd, but you can find a few titles posted. Don't fret about getting every book in a series or starting at Book 1. She's really good about including back story in subsequent books. Skip the anthologized stories. She's at her best in full-length books.

Right now, there are copies of DANGEROUS GAMES available on PBS. This is one of LL's best and hottest romantic suspense stories. This is Book 2 in her Tempting SEALs series, but Book 1 is an anthologized story that is sooooo not worth tracking down.

LL's hot series include:

Tempting SEALs - Romantic Suspense - Navy SEAL alpha heroes.

Elite Ops - Romantic Suspense - Paramilitary alpha heroes.

Nauti Boys - Contemporary w/some suspense and M/F/M plot elements

Men of August - Menage - This is the exception to the rule about reading LL books as standalones. This series needs to be read from beginning to end to understand the psychological motivations for the August brothers sharing their women.

Breeds - Paranormal romantic suspense - Slightly futuristic (2025), characters were created in labs using human and predatory animal DNA to create killing machines. The labs have been destroyed and the breeds have been freed, but there are genetic purists who think they shouldn't live. Meanwhile, the breeds want to live peacefully, find love, and overcome their killing instincts. Oh, and did I mention the mating heat? In kissing, they share hormones with their mates that cause them both great pain if they don't have non-stop sex until conception occurs.

Bound Hearts - Contemporary erotic romance - Men who have found they all have something in common - They believe the greatest pleasure they can give their women is two men - No gay love, the focus is always on the woman, but lots of M/F/M and one-on-one sex. The coo-wul thing about LL's menage is that there is always a psychological reason; it's not just about the physical pleasure. Very HOT series.

Hmmm. Erotic historicals? Robin Schone (victorian), Cheryl Holt (regency), Madeline Hunter (regency), Diane Whiteside (western and paranormal), Sarah McCarty (western).

My 2 favs (Historical):

Diane Whiteside's Devil series; Irish Devil (bk 1),  and River Devil (bk 2), are available in the system.

Sarah McCarty Promises, or Hell's Eight series, but all are wl'd

Hot, with great stories! (and their para series are great too!:P)

I agree with Les's recommendation of Whiteside and McCarty. In addition to Whiteside's Devil series, her Texas Vampires series is also HOT, but as Les mentioned, they're WL'd. *sigh*

Best erotic historical? For American westerns, I'd have to say Irish Devil by Sarah McCarty. For regencies, both Madeline Hunter's Rothwell Brothers series (Rules of Seduction, Lessons of Desire, Secrets of Surrender, Sins of Lord Easterbrook) and Cheryl Holt's Too series (Too Hot..., Too Tempting..., Too Wicked....) are very good.

I just remembered another author who definitely crosses the line into very erotic historical romance: Noelle Mack. Particularly, her book THREE (hell, the last chapter is an orgy). I don't care much for her writing style. i.e., "One Wicked Night" (the prequel to Three) made me nuts just because it was 1st person POV, which always puts me off.

I'll second Colleen suggestion of Cheryl Holt, and as far as erotic historicals go, one of my favorites is Jess Michaels, though her books are WL'd as well.

The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt is not erotica per se, but it has some pretty hot sex.  Great plot, very likeable heroine, and the hero grows on you after awhile.  I liked this one the best of the three Prince books (the others are Leopard Prince and Serpent Prince.)  Also, I seem to recall that Delicious by Sherry Thomas was pretty steamy, and I really loved that book.

I don't read a lot of historical but Sarah McCarty's Promises series is good and you see previous characters/couples in the other books. Promises Linger was my fave!

I can't pick a single favorite, but I like the way Marsha Canham writes the sex into her books so that there's a lot going on in the story, and the H&H still have sex several times without it getting repetitious or seeming shoe-horned in there for the sake of getting more sex into the book.  I like for books to have a very smooth & natural flow to them like watching a movie, but most romantic themed movies, if you notice, only have one sex scene & if they do it more, it's usually just suggested.  Like Connie Brockway books - her couples usually only have sex once in the book, but it works ok because she has a knack with pacing her stories, so it flows naturally & doesn't seem slow.  I don't like anything that disrupts the flow of the story, which is why I'm not fond of epilogue sex, or even sex in the last couple of chapters, but I have seen that done well.  Sherry Thomas can pull it off well without it reading like it was thrown in there to meet some editor's demands for more sex.

*Edited because I can't type worth a crap:P

Oh - and I really should mention that Laura Kinsale writes really good, well rounded historicals with lots of emotional depth + the steamy love scenes.  Flowers From the Storm is a very emotionally moving story & has great, steamy love scenes.  Seize the Fire & For My Lady's Heart are like that too.  And Shadow Heart actually has a good smattering of S&M in it:P
