I really liked Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin. It's one I will probably reread in the future. I also like Unpredictable by Eileen Cook. It was funny, laugh out loud at times & I love those kind of books!

I am listening to Prep and reading Good Luck. Both decent books, but I AM LOVING Good Luck. There is a wish list for that one though.

I have an unpostable copy of Prep. A few sentences are underlined, but completely readable!

I'll have to get Good Luck on my WL soon. My WL is always so full that I have to use my reminder list to hold books I'll eventually add to my WL. Anyways I've had Gook Luck on my reminder list for a while waiting to add it to my WL. It might be one I need to check out from the library though if it's too good to wait on the WL. Gotta love the ole library!

Brandi, I really enjoyed Bergdorf Blondes by  Plum Sykes. Have you read Debutante Divorcee by her? I liked it too.

Hmmm, in the past few months my favorites have been:

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella

The Little Lady Agency  and Little Lady, Big Apple by Hester Browne **These were sooo funny!!**

My Best Friend's Girl by Dorothy Koomson

Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger

I've also read Love the One You're With recently. It was great! As were the two Plum Sykes novels and Conversations with the Fat Girl that Brandi mentioned. I highly recommend those as well!

Another good read is Losing Gemma by Katy Gardner.  I don't know if it is technically chick lit, but it is definitely a great coming-of-age story. I really got into it. Probably one of the best books that I've read this year.

I really liked Debutante Divorcee, but I think Bergdorf Blondes was better. Is Love the One You're With by the author of Baby Proof? I have Baby Proof on my TBR and I had never heard of Emily Griffin before. Just wondering what she was like.

I really liked "Milkrun" by Sarah Mylonowski (spelling?!?!). It was a great tale of being single and all the hard knocks you take trying to find that guy. Apparently, that's what 'milkrun' is slang for- the act of trying to find a guy and wading through all the jerks!

Yes, Love the One You're With is the same author as Baby Proof.

Brandi, As Heather said, yes Emily Giffin is the same author of Love the One You're With &  Baby Proof. I always enjoy her books! She also has Something Blue, & Something Borrowed. They were all really good! I think you'll enjoy Baby Proof.

Heather, I tried to read Milkrun but I couldn't make it past Chapter 3. Does it get better after that?

ETA: I haven't forgotten your ornament, either! ;-P

Oh, I LOVED "Milkrun" - I'm sorry you (Brandi) had some issues with it. I love (recently, esp) reading about stories of women who have dating troubles (aren't there soooooo many) because I'm going through it! I'm finishing "The Trials of Tiffany Trott" right now and it's very similar (I just posted a note about sending it free to someone in another thread). I say keep going with "Milkrun" because it's wonderful. Yes, typical chick lit ending, but still. Then again, there are so many good books in this world that if you DON'T like reading something, I'd say move on!

Everyone reading "Good Luck," I'm glad, b/c I'm on the waiting list! :-)

Happy reading (and happy birthday to me!!!!),

Heather

Oh, I also think that Whitney Gaskell is another of those "sure bet" authors for chick lit. I pretty much know I'll like anything by her.

I just got done with Queen of Babble in the Big City.  I thought it was better than Queen of Babble.  I need to get the third book and see what happens next!  LOL

I feel I have been left out of the loop. I had never heard of Whitney Gaskell til Colleens tragedy with the half-printed book. Must add her to the list....

Whitney Gaskell is great Brandi!! I believe she wrote Pushing 30. That was a great read. I just got the correctly printed Good Luck from the library yesterday, but I am in the middle of reading another book. *sigh* That was frustrating!!

I haven't read any Whitney Gaskell yet either. I have True Love (And Other Lies) and Testing Kate (both by her) on the way.

I guess she is considered Chick Lit.....but Jennifer Crusie's "Agnes And The Hitman".   I really enjoyed that book and it's a keeper on my shelf to reread at a later date.

Carol, have you read Getting Rid of Bradley by Jennifer Crusie? I thought that was a really good one, but it's the only one of hers I have read so far.

Hi Brandi...

I just requested that one on the 8th....so now I am more excited than ever to read it  :o)    But, thank you for suggesting it to me.  :o)

I've read a few of  Jennifers books......

"Agnes and The Hitman"  which I really liked.  If Agnes was a real person, we'd definitely be friends.  It's a Keeper.

"Faking It"...........this one gave me the giggles and the ending had me downright laughing.  It's a Keeper.

"Welcome To Temptation".......this book is either a follow up or pre-cursor to "Faking It"  as it has some of the same characters in it. I didn't like it at all.  I found it slow moving and boring.

"Bet Me" was only okay in my opinion.  it was more romance and less humor.  It's not one that I would ever read again.  If you like romance books, then you might would like this one.

I have Fast Women in my TBR stack and I know there is one more that I have, but for the life of me I can't think of the title....lolol.  Those pre senior moment things.  I would go look, but my shelves are in a closet and one of the cats is sound asleep in front of the door and I really don't want to wake her up since it's 2am and she's quiet and not into mischief...lol.
