Comprehensive month-by-month guide that clearly explains everything parents need to know about the first year with their baby. Has an illustrated Baby Care Primer, First-Aid & Safety Guides, plus special sections on:
*selecting the right physician
*getting started with breastfeeding
*sleeping and crying
*traveling with baby
*the older sibling
*nurturing the adopted baby
*nurturing the low-birthweight baby
Interesting, and full of good information about what to expect at doctor's visits, developmental milestones, etc. However, I found the authors to be less reassuring and more preachy than in "What to Expect When You're Expecting". I didn't finish it by the time my baby turned one.
This is an earlier print version of this book. I don't know why everone gives out these books as shower gifts but there is some useful info in here. DO NOT refer to this book for sleeping, or feeding advice. ESPECIALLY if you are breast feeding.
