My latest find is Nathalie Mallet's first novel 'Princes of the Golden Cage'.  www.amazon.com/Princes-Golden-Cage-Nathalie-Mallet/dp/1597800902/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-2215763-2787660

Prince Amir lives in a lavish and beautiful cage. He lives in a palace with hundreds of his brothers, all barred by law from ever leaving the palace until he, or one of his brothers, becomes the next Sultan. Living under constant threat of death at the hands of his scheming brothers, Amir has chosen a life of solitude and study. His scholarly and alchemical pursuits bring him under suspicion when his brothers begin to die from seemingly supernatural means. Amir finds himself thrown together with his brother Erik, the son of a barbarian princess. Together they must discover the dark secret that is stalking the halls of their golden cage.

It's a fun book, and there are sequels coming.  I recommend it.

So what new author have you found that we may not have heard of yet?

The book doesn't come out until March, but I'd be thrilled to death if y'all would discover me.  *giant grin*

Well, since you asked...

"In a world where infants with magical powers are torn from their parents to be raised by the mysterious and powerful Danisoba, who have a monopoly on magic, Kestrel has managed to keep her abilities concealed - and herself free.  First hiding in back alleys as a street urchin after her parents' murder, she later escaped to sea, where magic is cancelled out by salt water.
Now, as an adult and quartermaster of a pirate ship, Kestrel loves the freedom of living on the seas, even though her way of life could come to an end if the wrong person learns of her latent magical abilities and turns her in to the Danisoba Magi.
But one day a black ship appears, captained by a handsome, roguish man who draws Kestrel's attention even while he arouses her suspicions.  And when her captain is kidnapped, Kestrel must gather her crew and use everything at hand, maybe even her own magic, in order to save him. "

How's that?

And thanks for the congratulations - I'm still just beside myself!  I'm glad you like the cover - I really lucked out with my cover artist.  Her name is Shelly Wan, and you'll be seeing more from her in the future!
