This afternoon I've received 5 emails for 4 different wishlisted books, saying they are available to purchase from PBS Market. The links in the emails take me to the general book description, not the Market. Searching the market for them turns up no results. I looked within minutes of receiving the emails, so it couldn't have been that they sold out already.  Is anyone else getting these emails or having this problem today?

I think the emails are sent out at certain times of the day, so these books could have been in the market all morning and others have bought them.
I go to my WL and see if their is a link to buy the books via the market.  I check it once a day.  I am no huge hurry to get the books.

And as they are over runs, there are very limited quantities available in the Market.

Others are getting the same emails and if there were only one or two copies available, they could easily have been ordered very quickly.

There also may be a delay in you receiving the emails, depending on your email provider so the email may have been sent a while before you received it.

Keep checking back. The same thing happened to me earlier today (just one e-mail, just one book - it wasn't there). But when I signed in again just now, there it was!

There are only 3 wishers for this book. Is it really worthwhile for PBS to have it in the marketplace?

Not all marketplace books are wish listed.  In fact in my experience, the majority of them are not wish list books.  PBS chooses to highlight those books that are so that people who are in the back of a wish list line and would like to get the book faster have the oppertunity to do so.  So the number of wishers doesn't really have any effect on which books are for sale in the marketplace.  I believe the selection is based on whatever the suppliers have to offer.  It's the same thing you see with Bargain Books on amazon.com

I must not wish list books that are readily available as bargin books, because I almost never have any books from my wish list available at PBS Market.  Sad day...

@Catherine-

You may have moved up on the list for "The Twelve". I was #1 on the list and got selected late last week; the book arrived yesterday.

I also had this happen. Yesterday I received 6 emails for books on my wishlist that were now available through the market, but when I looked for them, not one could be found. Glitch in the system as they bring the market back online?

Whatever is available in the market has more to do with what the supplier has available than the WL. Also some people like to buy new copies for gifts or as keepers.

I've received a few e-mails from the market place today and when I checked the books didn't seem to be available for purchase.  I think there may be a glitch somewhere in the system.  One of the books that I received an e-mail for is a book that I've been 2 of 2 on the wishlist for quite a while.  When I clicked the marketplace link, as others have reported, I go to the PBS book description--but it doesn't show as being available for purchase.

I received two notices of books available today.  Neither were available.  I went to the second one within minutes of receiving it and it was not there.  I am not buying the idea that people are jumping on these books that fast.  If it happened to one or two people once in a while, it would be believable, but this is definitely some kind of glitch in the system.  I received a notice weeks ago on one of the books, was not interested in buying it at that time, and it appeared on the home page every time I logged in for weeks.

The computer system is a bit wonky, anyway.  I have Conscious Life: Creating Your Reality by Ramon Stevens on my wishlist in 3 versions.  They keep suggesting that I add a 4th version called A Classified Bibliography of Welsh Americana by Edward G. Hartmann.  Yeah, right.  That would make a dandy substitute.

I am sure they will get it straightened out eventually.  They always do.

I emailed TPTB and received this answer, which cleared things up very well:

Thanks for writing in! We are sorry you had trouble with this. The Market inventory re-expanded hugely this afternoon after one of our suppliers came back online, and there may have been a slight delay in getting the Market info onto all of the listings.

We do see when we look now that everything looks okay - these books are available for purchase from the links in the emails. The emails are "first alert" for these books - the link will take you to the book but the Market search lags behind the email, so that those who get the email have an exclusive ability to get the book for a little while. That is always the case with these emails.

The link in the email for Criss Cross takes you to

http://www.paperbackswap.com/Criss-Cross-Evie-Rhodes/book/0758208723/

which shows the book details page, with the PBS Market price information under the title. You just need to click "Buy it New" on the right of the listing to add the book to your Cart.
