I ordered 3 books from someone in a deal.  The deal was 8/3.  I noticed the day after the books showed as being mailed, that the other 5 books were still posted to her shelf.  I pm'd her so she could remove them.  I never got a response.  The books are about ready to go lost in the mail, and the other 5 are still on her shelf.  My question is this will the person still get her 3 credits for the transaction and will I get my 3 credits back??

Senders get credits when requestors mark the books Received.  That's the only way.  If you get books it's against the rules not to mark them received, so, since you have to mark them recieved, the sender will get credits.  It's up to the sender to give credit refunds.

I haven't gotten the books yet, I was just wondering what would happen.  They were mailed a while back and will go lost in the mail in a few more days

If the sender used PBS DC and the package was scanned - yes, they will get the credits and get to keep them regardless of whether you get the books. If they used PBS postage, they will have their credits already and will keep them. That's Credit Assurance kicking in.

You will get your credits back when the books go lost, but if they do show up you will need to mark them received even if the free books are not included.

If she purchased postage, then yes, she got the 3 credits which she keeps.

If she purchased DC AND the book was scanned somewhere, then she also gets the 3 credits which she keeps.

And, you get your 3 credits back when the books go lost.

That is true, but I'd definitely pm asking her to buddy at least one creidt back, if she didn't send any free books.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Credit Assurance.  Quick question:  Did the order roll over to another sender?

The print label date will change even if all she did was check to see the address. It doesn't change the arrival date. I've gone in when I got a PM and checked where the person was from etc and if I bring up a label, it shows as a new label print date even though the book(s) have already been mailed and the label has already been printed.

Bertie - she could easily have sent all the books, but forgotten to take the ones in the deal off her bookshelf.  I've done that.  I usually remember it very quickly though, but unless someone orders the books for her and she remembers that she sent them to you, they may not come off her bookshelf until then.  Good luck. Pat

I did that once.  I forgot to take off one of the free books I sent out and someone ordered it later.  I felt so bad and now I doublecheck to make sure I remove any free books when I pull them and print the address.  It was embarrassing to PM the person and tell them the book was already gone but they were gracious about it.

I've done the "Forgot To Remove The Freebies" from the shelf thing before.  Usually I catch it when someone orders one of the books and I can't find the damn thing. Que Sera, Sera.

Now when I get a deal from someone I always send a friendly reminder to the person in my Thank You PM to remember to remove the Freebies from the shelf.
