I am very confused. I pm'ed a buddy and asked her if I could post two books to her wishlist shelf. She shared a wishlist book with me, and I wanted to return the favor. I went to her wishlist shelf, and clicked on the "post a book" from her shelf, and the information said it was going to be posted to her shelf. I did this twice. Both times linked from her shelf.

One of the books went FIFO. I originally thought this was a glitch and just canceled the request and started over, but, according to my archives the book had went FIFO. Ugh.

WHY? HOW?

Did you have your shelf on hold when you posted the book to her and then take it off for it to be offered? That's the only case I can see that happening.

The system has been a little glitchy lately.

Both you and your friend have to have your accounts not on vacation hold, and the ISBN has to match exactly. Also, you have to click the Post Book button that's on the right edge of her wish list, you can't click on the book and post it from the details page.

Yes- my account was on "vacation hold" so I went and took it off when I realized it wasn't posting the books. Thats what caused this???

I did everything else- ISBN's matched, I hit the "post books" button ON her wishlist.

I apologized to the FIFO person, and offered to get a book from their shelf for their inconvenience, but they said it was fine, that they wouldn't have been up for reading it until spring break anyway. It was just weird and  felt very embarrassed.

Yes, I found out the hard way if you post to someone's wish list when your account is on hold, then unhold your account it will just bounce to FIFO.
