This may have already been answered in one of these posts, so I apologize if it is a duplicate.

What happens if you never receive a book that was sent to you and it is highly requested?  Do you go to the end of the line or do you go back to the number 1 slot?   I am just curious because it looks like one of my books that I had WLed is not coming.  Thanks so much for your help!

Yes, you do go back to the front of the WL line once the book is marked lost by the system.

I'm thinking you may have to send in feedback for it, I don't know if they do it automatically, but as Cheryl said, you do get to go back up to the front.

Also, remember, that at the same time as your book goes lost, someone else that has that book on WL and was number one may take their shelf off vacation, and someone else could also have their book go lost or be RWaP, and you could actually end up being number 2 or 3 or whatever, because of multiple people going back to the head of the line at the same time. The computer does all the intricate calculations, so no human has to keep track of all that, it's built into the programming of the WL.

Looks like I might end up in this situation too.  A highly WL book being sent to me hasn't arrived yet, and I've already started getitnig the emails asking if I've received it.

Thank you SO much for the help!  I am almost positive this isn't coming to me.  The person who had it waited until the absolute last minute to accept the request and then waited until the last minute to mark it mailed.  Ugh..LOL

Thank you so much everyone for the input.  It figures that something like this would happen to me when I was #1 in line for weeks before the book's release.  Sigh.. LOL
