I mailed a book out with DC and postage paid and it said in the details that it was delivered but the person I sent it to never marked it recieved.  So PBS marked it lost in the mail and we both recieved  our credits.  I feel guilty because It said it was delivered....Is there anything I should do about this?

Was it to an APO or FPO, by chance?  If you mail to a military service person overseas, your DC will kick in as soon as the package reaches the military postal service center in the United States... it can be weeks from there until the package actually gets to the person, since media mail is low priority and they fill up the planes/ships with priority and first class first.

Nope...it wasn't . I got the credit instantly because I used pre paid postage.  The other person kept their credit and it said it was delivered, but never marked.

They probably just forgot to mark it mailed.  Did you send the person a PM to see if they have received it?

I didn't...I didn't want to offend anyone...in case it was delivered to the wrong address or something

Have you PMed the receiver to ask if they have received it?  Sometimes people just forget to mark them received.  Could be that they have been out of town, or ill, or otherwise unable to mark it received.

One thing to note about when the DC details say it was "delivered"- that doesn't necessarily mean that it was delivered correctly.  It just means it was delivered..somewhere.  Sometimes mail is misdelivered to another house, but it was still delivered, and will still say as much in the details.

Also, don't feel guilty for getting your credit!  That is exactly what DC is for!  You paid for this service, which guarantees your credit in case of loss.  Very few actually do go lost, so the site is not losing money from you gaining a credit for a book that went lost- they are making it up and then some from all the DC transactions that are delivered successfully.  So, no worries!  Do communicate with the requestor though- it may be easily resolved.
