Really wonderful book about the love of parents--even those who have to give up a child--and their children. It's a poignant story of love, reconciliation, and hope. A terrific read!!! This is the sequel to Sandcastles, but stands on its own.

Another great read by Luanne Rice! I was definitely surprised by the ending. The book was riveting and I couldn't wait to read each page. Don't forget to read Sandcastles as it is the starting point of Tom and Bernadette.

I love everything Luanne Rice has written, but this one had to be my absolute FAVORITE! I did not want this story to end. The character's stories are so interesting and heartwarming that you will find yourself thinking about them long after you finish this book!

I usually really like Luanne Rice books and was really looking forward to this one, based on the reviews I read on PBS. However, I was disappointed. I thought the characters were too sappy and I had trouble suspending my disbelief about the connection between the two younger ones. As far as the nun - well let's just say that was the biggest letdown of all. I did not like her one bit - she was too whiny and selfish - couldn't cut herself loose from her old love. Where was the her love for God in all this? I don't think she put HIM first in her life at all. She only stayed a nun out of habit (no pun intended), not real love for God. And the "visions"? Please...

Sorry to be so harsh, but that is the way I felt while reading this book.

In the context of this book one finds the meaning of true love. there are a multitude of emotions running through oneself as you delve farther into this saga. I found it difficult to put it down. It struck a core in me . It is as the author placed her heart on those passages. I would have to say it is one of the best books I have read this year and I read a lot.

This is a sequel to Sandcastles and together they make a fine Irish tale I have both available
