I just placed an order for a book and got this message:

You should receive an email in the next couple of days confirming the book is being shipped by another member.
Thanks again for using PaperBackSwap.com!

The order went through as it would normally, except for that message.  It sounds like it's telling me that the book will come to me but from a different member than I ordered it from.  Is that how you read it?  And if so, why?

Kate, I think that's the message we always get when we place an order.

I don't think I have ever noticed it before.  Oh well, more of that "Old Timer's Syndrome".

It could be a little more clear.  Maybe if it said "is being shipped by the member you ordered it from".  The way it reads now, it sounds like someone other than the person I ordered it from is sending me the book.

No it's not.  Either they re-worded the message to a new one or something else is happening on her order.

This is just a friendly email to confirm that your request for the book "XXX" by xxx has been accepted into our system at PaperBackSwap. In the next couple of days you should receive an email stating that the book is on its way!

second form letter

Great news from PaperbackSwap! The book 'XXX' by xxx you requested has been mailed by a fellow PBS member. Once you receive the book, please login into your account and tell us that you have received it. We will then credit the other member.

I just joined a few weeks ago but my message has always said:

"This is just a friendly email to confirm that your request for the book XXXX by XXXX has been accepted into our system at PaperBackSwap. In the next couple of days you should receive an email stating that the book is on its way!"

So I don't know why your message came up a different way.... blush

Well, I've turned off my request accepted into the system emails so I can't double check, but I always remember it being the worded Kate posted.  I've never seen the one Emily posted (the second form letter is letting members know the book has been mailed and is unrelated to the request accepted emails) so maybe that's the new one?  I've had those emails turned off for about 6 months now, so I don't know for sure.

You could check your transaction record and see if it shows a change.

I got my copies out of the club communications file.  I think there is a slightly different form letter if folks select the later mailing date rather than the two date mailing.

I'm glad to hear it's not me.  The message is rather prominent and I couldn't figure out how I had missed it for so long.  None of the books have been accepted yet so I can't see if they are coming from someone other than the original person who was in the FIFO list.
