I am taking down my Chrismtas decorations and are wondering if anyone has use for my old Christmas cards?

Generally I would just toss them but I am trying to recycle more and more and was just wondering if anyone out there could use them?  I would be happy to send them to you (or wherever) and I can probably snag my mom's too.

Happy New Year to all!

This year we let our cub scout pack cut up the pictures and make new cards for nursing home residents.

I have donated them to nursing homes in the past.  They use them for crafts.

I'm with Cindy, I use the fronts of old Christmas cards as enormous gift tags, since they are so pretty.  Often, in the "I wish" thread,  scout troop leaders and Sunday School teachers request old greeting cards, Christmas or otherwise, for craft purposes.

If I like the front cover, I cut it out and scale it down to bookmark size.  Otherwise they become scratch paper or go into the recyling bag.

A friend from Germany, now living in USA made all the guys at the office homemade candies and placed each gift in a "handmade box" her recycled Christmas Cards. Pattern was simple, so I think I will try next year.

you can make really pretty gift boxes.  search boxes from cards online and you will find several sites.

I have french doors that lead from my dining room into my living room. I got picture corners for scrap booking and put all of my cards from my pen pals onto the windows. It turned out looking similar to the big screens with the picture frames in them.

With my favorite cards (not just at Christmas), I cut out a 1" strip of the prettiest part for an instant bookmark.  I'll leave them by my desk, bed, favorite reading chair, etc so I always have one available.  I'll stick them in the front of books waiting to be read, even magazines to mark a recipe or article.  Also,  I've cut out a favorite verse from cards and used them in those multi pics frames/ the appropriate verse in one frame with 2 or 3 pictures makes a nice photo montage.
