There's definitely no policy, it's entirely up to you whether you keep all or none.

That being said, I would estimate that I keep about 10 percent of my books.  If I do want to keep one, though, I keep it without guilt.  :)

I don't keep many, maybe 10% also. I only keep the ones that were soooo good I just can't bear to give them away. I don't feel at all guilty because I do give so many away. I love to keep the wish list books moving.

I have decided to post all my books.  Nothing has been sacred to me as I can always order the book again if I really want it.  PBS has freed me from feeling guilty about getting rid of books!  I even posted my brand new Harry Potter book immediately after I finished reading it because I knew that it would be sitting on my shelf when someone else should be reading it.

The only ones I keep are usually books that I use as refferance books and sometimes a few non-fiction. Almost all of my fiction gets reposted.

I repost most if not all the books I get for myself.   However, I often order books either for my nephew in Iraq or a friend who is ill and those books don't get reposted.               The very FEW I've kept, I've done so with no feelings of guilt at all.   It is my book to do with it whatever I choose.

I repost about 90-95% of what I get here--I've never really kept track, but that's what I'd estimate. A few things I get are for my keeper shelf, and occasionally I'll order something for my kids or other family members that won't get reposted. But no guilt here either--I "paid" a credit for the book so what I do with it when I'm done is totally my business. But for the most part, I recycle them right back into the system.

I repost about 90% of the books i receive. Occasionally a book will capture me and i can't let it go. I have a huge TBR pile, so i am trying to get out those books which have been sent to me.... slowly! What a fun topic to see how people's opinions differ.

I've planned to repost most that I get. Unfortunately I've got 3 books in the last couple of weeks that have been technically unpostable. (1 had stains along the side of the pages, 1 the front cover was bent horribly, and another had water damage) So those I can't recycle into the system, which bummed me out. Also, the ones I order for my kids won't be reposted unless they don't like the book. But otherwise, I plan to post as many back as I can. (as soon as I get my TBR pile moving...)

I am mostly trying to find older scifi from specific authors and when I get those I'll keep them.  If I want to try an author out or something like that I tend to repost those.  I also buy a lot of books and many of those end up on here.  So adding together the books I am trying out and books that I buy and end up not wanting to keep It is probably 35/65 favoring keepers.

I probably keep @10% now - at first I kept a lot more, but realized that with the size of my TBR pile I would NEVER get around to rereading most of them, and if I wanted to read one again, chances were I could get it within a few weeks.  I joined PBS in hopes of getting more shelf space - however, I have more books than ever!  I've discovered new authors, authors I never would have spent $$ on to "try" their books - some of them have become favorites.

So far I have reposted everything I got from the site -- that I have read, of course.  Although I currently have a textbook that I am considering keeping (or not).  I used to keep almost every book I read, but I was already weaning myself from that habit when I joined PBS.

I repost almost everything I get for myself or my hubby, but keep all of the ones I get for my son.  When he outgrows them I plan to repost the ones that are still in good condition, but that will likely be a few years from now.

Since most folks seem to be reposting most books, I wish there was a way to track a book back and forth across the country (no names, just places).  It would be neat to see how many lives one book touches thanks to this great site.

I keep most of the nonfiction and repost the vast majority of the fiction.

I don't think there really is a  policy--I keep the books I think I'll read again, and eventually repost(post for the first time) the books I decide I won't read again).  I do keep a lot of books, not just from here:)

I keep a lot of the books I recieve, and share with friends. Once you have recieved a book it's yours to keep, there's no policy on re-posting.

I generally will repost...although all the books I've ordered are on my TBR shelf and need to be read!

Carol, you can repost the book with the bent cover, I don't think that is against the rules.  (but I know someone will tell me if I'm wrong).  I think as long as it isn't separated from the book it can be reposted.

R&R have said that they are working on a feature where you can see where a particular book has been, so maybe in the future we wil be able to see a book's history.

I keep the majority of the books I receive, but they are cookbooks which I collect. Although, I have recently decided that I don't need that many cookbooks and have plans to go through them.

there have been some fiction that our local library didn't have and I did repost those.

I love books.  And I keep far more than I should.  PBS however is helping me to realize I can let them go to good homes, so I guess now I probably keep less than 50%, some I turn around right away, others I will when I get to them.  I am hoping eventually to get that number down to 10% or less.  (those numbers include the books I buy as well as ones I get here, I probaly buy 4 or 6 books a month retail and probably another 2 or 3 second hand)

Ok what I really need is Books Anyonmous LOL

I probably re-post about 95% of the books I receive. There are a scant few series I'm collecting, and the rest go back into the system.

I'm mostly hunting for books I'd like to keep. I've still got 14 books I had decided to trade, but I've had to take them off for the time being because of the cost of mailing out about 20 books all at once there when I first joined. I wouldn't run out of books to trade though. I'm definately gonna' hit 2nd hand stores and yard sales one of these days to look for books worth trading.
