Went ahead and read Mary Balogh's No Man's Mistress and felt again the ending was incomplete. Found her little epilogue ebook where she talks about how those ending were forced to be cut. After having read what was cut, I felt the books would have been much richer for the scenes.

ETA: Next up Rachel Gibson's I'm In No Mood For Love. Willa sorry the SEP didn't work for you. I rated it pretty high at 4.5, but only because the last 1/4 of the book was so good.

I was on vacation last week and managed to finish Scarlet Nights- meh.  Thought it might be that I just wasn't in the mood to tolerate the overscripted dialogue of Devereaux, not to mention the character inconsistencies, but checking the GR reviews, I see I am not alone in that.  Then I managed to read in its entirety At Last by Shalvis- another good installment of the series, though I think I like the last one a bit better.  I have now started on Destiny by Carly Phillips and am not very far in yet, but I'm already kind of annoyed by Nash, the hero.  He had a stick up his behind in the last book, and he's not much better in this one so far.

I read Forever and a Day by Jill Shalvis. I didn't think I would like it as much because I never really thought much of Josh or Grace but I was wrong. I really like Josh as a hero, I wish we had more of him.

I'm reading The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt, my first by her. I'm really enjoying her writing style.

I finished The Short and Fascinating Tale of Angelina Whitcombe by Sabrina Darby.  Enjoyed it quite a bit, especially for a book less than 100 pages.  Not sure what's up next.

Read Tempting the Beast for the TBR challenge. This month was "steamy reads" and it certainly fit the bill! I liked it more than I expected to -- have plenty to criticize, but it was very absorbing and sexy.

Rebecca that is one of my all time fav trilogys....Harry out of that trilogy is by far one of my fav "just a working man" heros. Finished the Gibson book and it was good...just took too darn long to get to the good stuff and then it felt rushed. Not sure what I am going to delve into next. I have picked up 3 books so far and set them back down.

I finished The Duke's Perfect Wife. I liked it, but not as much as most of the others. I'm a bit disappointed really. Picked up Pride and Passion when I left the house this morning.

Picked up Elaine Levine's Leah and the Bounty Hunter and I love that these aren't your typical sweet westerns, these have a real, hard sexy edge that I really like. Those times were rough on women and men and EL isn't holding that back. I just wish Leah would get a clue and realize in this little lawless town Jace was the only man going to keep her safe.

Almost done with Paper Hearts by Maureen Child.  Short and cute. I'd give it a B.   I've decided to spend the rest of August reading american historicals as a challenge, so I'm still deciding what's next.

I have about 5 books started..a mystery I started at the library yesterday(don't remember the title but the sleuth is 90 something yrs old), the charlotte featherstone book (seduction and scandal I think is the title), a nonfiction about decluttering. bought lora leigh's mmp at target yesterday (had a weak moment and flipped through and found a hot passage...sigh...) and another that caught my  eye - fiction I guess it all it is.

Finished Elaine Levine's Logan's Outlaw...love the series so much I wanted to finish it up. Not your sweet typical western, but very good and gritty.

As soon as I finish John Lescroart's Plague of Secrets I am going to start Meredeth Duran's Bound By Your Touch. but letting ya'll know now, coming up in my next batch of TBR books is Diana Gabaldon's Outlander...OMGosh...not sure if I am ready! :-) But at 800 something pages...I figured I had better get started or my aar top 100 goal will be out the window, because I still have the 3rd one to go as well.

Shotgun Bride by Lauri Robinson was good if simple.  Very PG13 with the steam, all the love scenes were closed door except for kissing.  Not positive what's up next other than it will be a historical.

Keri you will enjoy it.  Give it a chance.  The first few chapters are dry but once she goes back in time - whoh momma!

Keri - I agree with Sherri.  It took me a good 100 pages of reading to get past the "wondering what all the hype was about" with Outlander.  But towards the end, I alternated between reading fast to see what happened and slowing down because I didn't want it to end.  LOL

I finished Bella Andre's Take Me and started Kristen Ashley's Rock Chick series, both of which I adored. Now I'm on to Swan And The Bear by Eve Langlais and it's already got me giggling.
