Yikes! I posted in the other thread then remembered it's already a new week!

Last night I read 'A Hard Man to Love' by Kathleen Lawless. It was a pretty good story. Thought it was erotica, and romantic times classifies it as erotica but I guess after that BDSM book the other day everything 'regular' seems sorta mild! :-) Also bummed 'cause I didnt' think to look and see if it was available on here before I bought it..grrr..I have another of her books to read also -  Untamed I think is the title. It was surprisingly a quick read..I started reading around 8:30 and stopped around 9:30 then woke up and read about another hour or so. I think a lot of these trade size books could be done MMP for less..

Shari, how are you liking 'you don't know jack'? I have that one with me but it's been too busy to get 'into' it..I'm thinking about trying to read a historical..yikes...haven't read but one of those in the last 15 years probably LOL! someone said this author is funny so might try to read it today between samples ' Carried Away' by Jill Barnett..anyone familiar with her? I enjoyed the last historical - thereas medeiros' 'bride and beast'- but that was just an out of the blue read 'cause I found it at the ongoing FOL sale shelf for a quarter and thought it sounded interesting.

Last night I read #6 of the Dark Hunters.  It was Vane and so far was my favorite.  I have always had a thing for woves. :)    Know I am on to #7-10 , I tell you once I start one I can not put it down.

I was very happy to get my TBR sorted out.  My shelf is now bigger than my TBR.  Although it is still around 250.

But Lori - how do you like Acheron?  That is the really important question!

I read Dance of the Butterfly last night by Cris Anson.  It was decent but I didn't like it as much as Dance of the Seven Veils...I think because I thought everyone was too hard on the heroine and her free spirit when it came to sex and her partners.  I understand her coming to the realization that once she found love - she didn't need that other stuff but I didn't necessarily like her feeling shame for her past.

Now I've started a Lauren Dane book for the first time ever - Thrice United.  It's an erotic paranormal involving a witch and 2 vampires.  It's an Ellora's Cave title.

Finished The Billionaire's Marriage Mission.  Another little HQ and delightful.  I'm in a little book phase and like them well written and not angst-filled.  This fit the bill.

Lori - I already have Acheron pre-ordered and I'm even considering going to Sherrilyn Kenyon's K-Con in New Orleans since it's the year of Acheron.

I'm reading The Outlaw Demon Wails by Kim Harrison. I love her "The Hallows" series.  I'm about halfway through but I hope to finish today...if my son lets me!

I finished up Awaken Me Darkly by Gena Showalter.  I ended up liking it more than I thought I would.  I was never able to completely get past the first person narrative but I was still intrigued enough to finish it.  The biggest problem that I had was that it didn't really feel like a romance.  The H/h didn't spend much time together until, maybe, the last third of the book.  Also, the hero was supposed to be this big, strong kick ass alien but he kept getting beat up. Mostly by the heroine.

I've started The Stolen Princess by Anne Gracie.  So far, so good.

I'm about 1/3-1/2 through 'carried away' by jill barnett. It's a nice story so far..silly/funny in places. it's a historical but I'm not sure how long ago..it's set in Maine I think and some islands but a store was mentioned so I don't think it's way way old! my first historical in a long time!

well I managed to finish 'Carried Away' by Jill Barnett. we were busy here but this one was easy to pick up and put down and not too many characters and no complicated plot. It was funny in places; overall a good story.

I finished Highlander in her Dreams by Allie Mackay and it was pretty good  - a time travel Scottish romance.

Kim - I've got "The Stolen Princess" in my TBR pile so glad to hear its good so far!

I think I'm going to start a contemporary next.

I couldn't make it through Private Arrangements by Sherry Thomas.  I think this is the first time I actually hate the heroine.  Not just annoyed or dislike, but actually hate.  Not sure if that's supposed to happen, but I'm not sure I want to finish the bloody thing.

I started reading The Last Mermaid by Shana Abe.  Hopefully this one will be better. :o)

In case you missed it in the previous week's post--Susanna--I liked You Don't Know Jack, it does have some funny parts, but I think The Pregnancy Test was better.(The two books are related.)  I was hoping she will be writing a story for the other 2 roommates but according to her website, it's not happening anytime soon.

I'm getting ready to start Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead--new author for me but I hope it's good. And I picked up 3 books at the UBS that I had been wanting--Freedom's Price/Suzanne Brockmann, Vampire, Interrupted/Lynsay Sands, and Take Me If You Can/Karen Kendall.

Thanks Shari! I haven't read 'the pregnancy test'..don't think Ihave that one in my TBR pile either though I have 'houston we have a problem' hiding out somewhere..

well so much for my no buy/low buy personal challenge! found otu there's a new half price books right down the road from my job and I had a $5 off coupon..sigh..once they showed me the 'erotica' section it was like 'wow'! the best selection I've seen at the 3 halfpricebooks I've been to in this area. and some of those I don't really classify as erotica but they were putting the books there(lucy monroe, jill shalvis) but oh well! too bad they closed at 8 'caue I probably could still be looking through all the sex manuals they had on the shelves above them! LOL the other stores put the erotica on a bottom shelf near the fiction/chick lit..this one didn't..it was back with the sociology stuff or something like that.

I started Charming the Highlander. Had a feeling this one wasn't really going to grab me, so I saved it for home reading. I was right, but I'll probably finish it.  Also reading Steve Martin's Born Standing Up.

Well, now that I have revealed, I can say that I just finished Master of the Highlands, for the T.O.R.S.O.S. swap, and it was really good!  I am looking forward to the next one coming out in June.  Not a lot of sex in this one, just a good, substantial story, which was great.

Sherri, I have Highlander in her Dreams in my TBR, along with Highlander in her Bed.  Glad to hear that you liked it- though that one is down a bit in the pile, so I won't be getting to it for awhile.

I'm still finishing the book I have for the cowboy swap, and I haven't revealed yet on that one so won't say what it is, but I'm almost done, and next up is Nauti Boy and Nauti Nights by Lora Leigh.  That will take me a good couple of weeks, I think.

Shari, I'd like to hear how you liked Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead when you're done with it.  it's been recommended to me, but i haven't been able to find it in person to try out the first few pages and see whether i liked it.

ETA: i finished Dawn's Awakening by Lora Leigh this morning.  i liked it better than the others i've read by her so far. it was focused more on the emotional and less on the physical, not that that wasn't there too!  it almost made me cry, which means i really got into it.

next up, if i get any time to read tonight, Jane's Warlord by Angela Knight.

I'm reading a non-romance.  The Final Detail by Harlan Coben.  I did read a couple Cowboy romances this week but I haven't revealed yet so I can't name them. I have a 3rd one started.  Not sure if I'm going to offer a choice of the 3 or not.  I'll decide when I have to reveal.

So I have 2 goig now. The cowboy book and the mystery.

Hey Ellen - I am interested to hear your thoughts on Jane's Warlord after you read it.

I'm still reading Thrice United by Lauren Dane and I'm enjoying it.  Clearly it involved a threesome, m/f/m but there's definitely attraction with the m/m and I find them both really hot and want them to get together.  There is a side story of the heroine being in danger because of her witch heritage and we're meeting her family - characters from previous Dane books (which I'm now interested in reading).

Morning all!  I finished Untouched and it was so-so.  I almost quit reading after 70 pages because it just wasn't holding my interest, but it seemed to pick up a bit after that.  On Saturday I read Open Season by Linda Howard and really liked it!  Last night I read a short HQ but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called.  It was a romantic suspense and ok.  This morning I started My Beloved by Karen Ranney.  I'm only about 30 pages in but it seems interesting so far!
