Finished "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" today.  Overall, I liked the theme.  The narration was dissonant for being written first person by the main character, though.  I think maybe the writer meant it to be that way because near the end one of the characters explains to him that he needs to start being more honest and do what he wants to do.

I originally started reading it because of the preview for the movie.  If they do it right, I think it would make an excellent movie.

finished A WINTER DREAM by Richard Paul Evans on Saturday (November) and LOVED it as I do all his works...  It wouldn't be the holiday season without a new book by him!  And I'm halfway through LIVE THROUGH THIS by  Mindi Scott.  It's ok...Nothing WOW..  But a quick read...

Finished "Son" by Lois Lowry, the finale book in "The Giver" Quartet.  I enjoyed Claire's journey from birth mother, to losing her child, and her journey to find her child; however, the part about Jonas, Kira, and Gabe felt like it was just tacked on.

Just finished reading The Farm.  I wasn't sure if I would like it but I was pleasantly surprise.  Now starting Lullaby by Amanda Hocking

i'm ALMOST done listening to FINALE...  I had a 2 1/2 one way drive today to visit another facility so I got most of it listened to.  I've got 4 tracks left on the final CD...  I really struggled with this one.  Then again, I was never a big fan of the series to begin with and this one was just way out there...anyone else read it yet?  Up next, I'm just finishing an upload of THE SELECTION on my iphone from the library so I'll start that tomorrow...

I liked the series, Val, but didn't love the last book...  Too many things just turned out a bit ridiculous for me....  I LOVED The Selection...  absolutely CANNOT WAIT for the next in that series! :)

I just finished Love and Other Perishable Items and now I'm reading Not Exactly a Love Story. Both are pretty funny.

I am pleasantly surprised by  The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, Bk 1) :: Julie Kagawa. I had been avoiding reading this dystopian vampire book. I looked at the reviews and it is getting good reviews. Very good book. Different spin on vampires, very good plot and complex characters. I hope she writes a sequal.

finished Live Through This which was just ok....they threw the surprise just boom, right out of nowhere...didn't like how it flowed with the book...

also finished WATCH ME (aka Reality Chick) by Lauren Barnholdt...writing was pretty crappy IMHO.

Now listening to Dead Beautiful finally...have had the audiobook for ages...  I have a 7 hour round trip drive tomorrow for work so should be able to finish up (or close to it) during that...

Val, so far I have found most of Lauren Barnholdt's writing to be pretty crappy....  I have a couple of hers on my shelf that I haven't read because of that....

Just finished The Sea of Tranquility...really freaking good.  Not surprised to see it in many "Best of 2012" lists.  I think I'm going to start Let It Snow.

I'm in the middle of reading Anna Godbersen's Luxe series... book 2 ends pretty sad! Have any of you read all of them? Do you like the overall ending of the series?

(without spoilers of course!)

i'm over 1/2 way through Girl of Nightmares.  I have to say that it's not pulling me in like the 1st one did...  if this was the 1st one in the series, i'd probably have stopped.  As it is, I do need to see what happens, but it isn't nearly as gripping as Anna Dressed in Blood...

Terrie,

I finished the entire series and it was good.  It did not end the way I was expecting so that might have colored my opinion of the series, but I was glad I finished them all.

Heather and Jacki - thanks for your feedback. I am really enjoying these books! I'm glad I have the whole series to read in a row without having to wait for a new release to come out!
