New week!

I'm reading a Love Inspired Historical called Dangerous Allies by Renee Ryan.  Its set during WW2 in Germany under Hitler's regime.  Very good so far.

That's a good one Sherri! I don't recall a lot of romance but I enjoyed the story a lot.

I"m reading a Harlequin Intrigue I bought for 25cts at FOL shelf yesterday(nope didn't need it but it caught my attentiona nd wouldnt' you know it's at least the 2nd book...) Guns and the Girl Next Door by HelenKay Dimon. I didn't know she wrote for intrigue - I've read another of her 'big' books seems like...maybe 2. It's fast paced and sorta nuts but it's kept my attention - at least til I went to sleep around 5 am! will probably finish it at work tonight during breaks. not sure if I'll look for others in the series or not.already missed the first couple's story.

I have another Intrigue(library book this time) and Loyalty in Death by Robb and may take a few lighter reads just in case. Need to catch up on some other stuff at work so will be doing that if there's a lull in the regular workload.

eta: well I do have book 1 but found the other couple's story in another 'series'..sheesh! why don't they put them together or mark them related?!

Woke up at 3 am this morning. After having woken at 4 and not fallen back asleep til 6 yesterday, decided to just go with it and finished The Sergeant's Lady on my iPod. Oh, my eyes hurt, but it was worth it.

I finished Guns and the Girl Next Door by HelenKay Dimon. It was pretty decent. now I'm reading another Harleqin Intrigue by Elle James - Nick of Time. It seems pretty good too and light enough for night shift during breaks.

eta: finished Nick of Time - liked it but the heroine was pretty stupid -w ouldnt' stay put even when she said she would and took off on her own like an idiot(this was after being shot at several times) dang fine cover though!

I stayed up late finishing Dangerous Allies by Renee Ryan.  OMG it was awesome!   I'm working on a review but needless to say definitely one of the most scary, emotional reads this year.  If you love WW2 romance, check this out for sure.

Up next is Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison.

I read Nalini Singh's story in An Enchanted Season, and was completely charmed by Nate and Tamsyn's backstory.

I also finished Alcandian Soul (Alcandians, Bk 3) by Mary Wine. Unremarkable.

And I'm about 3/4 of the way through Mine to Possess (Clay and Tally) and am liking it more than I thought I would.

I finally finished Kiss of Snow.  What a roller coaster ride!  I do have one big beef with the book... (That Singh waited until the very end to have Hawke's mating bond kick in.  I wanted him to get over his issues regarding Rissa being his mate and make the conscious decision to accept Sienna, and yet he fought it until the bitter end until the choice was almost taken from him during Sienna's power crisis.)

Aside from that, I loved it.  It seems like Singh took a huge step forward in the storyline pertaining to the war between the Psy, and the Psy vs. Changelings.    Does anyone know who the next book is about?  I can't believe this is book #10.  I am in no way ready for this series to end!!!

Not sure what's up next.  My kids and I are leaving Saturday to drive to the East coast and I have so much to do, I shouldn't be reading at all.  lol

Michelle, I actually JUST read on the publishers website yesterday that she is contracted for at least 2 more books.

You guys - this is awesome.  I emailed Renee Ryan (from the book I just read) via her website to tell her how much I enjoyed it and she wrote me back!

Dear Sherri,

WOW, you absolutely made my day, week, MONTH!!! ;-) I'm so happy you enjoyed "Dangerous Allies."  Writing the book was intense and rewarding.  My father is a WWII vet.  Many of his friends have passed away.  I started asking him questions about the Nazis, what he remembered from his days in the war, etc.  As the days went on, I kept asking myself, "How could the Nazis gain such power?"  And, "Did everyone in Germany look away?"  No, they didn't.  That's when Katia and Jack were born, so to speak.

If you send me your snail mail address I'll send you an early copy of "Courting the Enemy," my next WWII novel as a thank you.  I don't think "Courting" is as edge-of-the-seat as "Dangerous Allies" primarioy because it's set in the US.  The stakes aren't as high.  The bad guys are Nazi Sympathizers, though, and determined to bring the war to American soil. I should have my author copies by the end of July.

In the meantime, have a blessed day!!!  And thank you again for contacting me.

~Renee~

Nice, Sherri!

I'm reading Marrying Stone by Pamela Morsi. Very good and different, much like Simple Jess, but also has that slight... not exactly "ew" factor, but I'm not quite sure how to describe it.

Just finished reading Beyond the Rain by Jess Granger which I really enjoyed!  I very much recommend both that book and the sequel for anyone who likes scifi romance!  I am now going to try to read The Heir by Grace Burrowes.  I've had it forever, but I am finally going to read it!  Finger's crossed as I have seen glowing reviews and I don't get the fuss reviews!

I started again with Loyalty in Death by JD Robb - not sure I'll like this one since the theme sounds kinda nuts but I don't want to skip any darn it plus I have the next 2 from the library so I want to read this one and move on with the series before they're due back. I was able to renew them so still have 3 weeks. may take something lighter to work to read on breaks (if I get any =- power outage threw stuff off schedule so they'll be making up for lost time I'm sure)

Susanna, I'm a few books behind you on the In Death series, been listening to them in the care...It's been great to revisit this series since I lost touch with it a couple of years ago...I'm on Vengeance in Death....started out a bit gory..... Also reading Ready, by Lucy Monroe ....I've had the series in my TBR pile for ages but so far so good. Just finished Decadent by Shayla Black... OK but didn't really feel the connection between the two main characters as much as I'd like. I have others in the series in my wish list...no sure if I'll keep them there yet.

I think Vengeance is the one I almost stopped with.one was beyond graphic whre the victims wer kept awake during the process. left Loyalty at home i guess so will read a love inspired I think...IF I have any breaks we came into a busy mess at work and haven't stopped yet.

eta: started Home to Stay by Annie Jones. I started it a week or so ago but put it aside for something else but hadn't gotten but a fwe pages into it. It's ok -parts are cute but it has the separated for years - she left him at the altar after he told her the night bfore the wedding he didn't want kids so she ran off. now sh e's back with a special needs daughter she adopted and dealing with her aunt who's had a heart attack. I think it'll be a pretty good read but easy to pick up and put down whichis good since we're still busy at work! sad

eta again! finished Home to Stay and it was a good one - a lot of emphasis on the heroine and her daughter and the daughter wanting to grow and her trying to overprotect. I think more than that than on the hero/heroine but I enjoyed the book in spite of the kid!

not sure what's next - not quite as busy at work but have 3 more hours of stop and go work so need something simple to pass the time.

Mine to Possess (Psy-Changelings, Bk 4) was another winner in this series for me. I loved Clay and Talin, even though I wasn't sure I was going to connect with them at first.

I'm now almost done with Blood of an Angel (Embraced, Bk 3) by Anya Bast (a LOT of sex, light on the story), then it's on to Hostage to Pleasure (Psy-Changelings, Bk 5). Cannot wait to hear Dorian's story. cheeky

I started another Love Inspired early this morning and am liking it so I'll try to finish it tonight at work on breaks..Instant Daddy by Carol Voss. secret baby them but not on purpose - the heroine's twin sister had a one night stand with fellow research chemist then transferred, had the baby and gave it to her twin sister for adoption. She said the father wnated nothing to do with the baby and didn't tell them the name. well the one who had the baby dies in a lab accident or something and the 18 monther's father shows up in her hometown to present the scholarship along with the one who adopted the baby and the whole family's in shock because the kid looks just like him down to the birthmark on the chin. He notices when the kid wakes up and come to find out he was never told. She has her family in her corner and he has no one but 2 friends, one who's dying and needs the research the hero's been working on non-stop. the hero's family put him in boarding schoola nd basically weren't there for him. He wants different for his son yet knows nothing about taking care of the kid. sh e wants him to fail because she wants the baby (she has a secret about herself no one knows but you can guess early in the book) but she decides to help him learn to do stuff with the toddler. so far it's moving along pretty well but I"m not too far into it. Neither wants to go to court - he has legal grounds since he didn't know about the kid and hadn't waived any rights and her fathers' laid down the law to him that what's best for Jake is to stay with her LOL!

may try to get back to Loyalty in Death as well unless we're super busy at work or I need another lighter read. have  bunch of books from the library as well out in the car so I should be set!
