I'm still working on The Cop.  It's really good, I should be finished with it tonight.  I can't decide if I want to request the other 2 in the series or not though.

Susanna, I read Kidnapped a couple of weeks ago.  I thought it was a great concept for a book but I didn't end up enjoying it as much as I thought I would.  I hated how the hero turned into Rambo at the end and killed everyone.

I'm reading a non-romance right now but I'm about done with it.  Its Monster by Frank Peretti.  Very good - not scary as you would think with the title but suspenseful to be sure.

Yikes!  Susanna and Sarah,  I think Kidnapped will be one on my to-miss list.  I'm such a sissy when it comes to my reading and what I watch, so I'm sure I'd get all tense and not enjoy it.  I definitely tend to prefer less action in my reading (at least of the guns-involved kind ;)).

Haven't gotten much reading done the past couple days--skimmed Linda Lael Miller's Daring Moves, but couldn't really get into it, and the first story in one of those Duets, Lady and the Scamp, which was cute.

I read couple of Karen Kingsbury's short Christmas novellas that I borrowed from the library--Gideon's Gift (which I'd read before but had forgotten that I had!) and Hannah's Hope.  I really enjoyed the first, but the second seemed somewhat flat to me.  Karen Kingsbury seems pretty prolific, although her books seem hard to come by on PBS.  I'll have to see what else I can find at the library :)

I finished Hello, Gorgeous! by MaryJanice Davidson--a former sorority girl hair stylist becomes a bionic woman--it was pretty funny.

Now, I'm getting ready to start a two-fer book by Nora Roberts--Devin and Shane, the MacKade Brothers. I was suprised to see that the setting for them is Antietam, Maryland--home to a beautiful civil war battlefield. I am originally from Delaware and I love finding books that are set in my neck of the woods--I loved Nora's Chesapeake series!

I'm also reading a couple of paranormals--Dark Prince/Christine Feehan and Dead Girls are Easy/Terri Garey--but today I'm just not in the mood for them.

Today I finished Bulletproof Marriage by Karen Whiddon.  This is a Silhouette Romantic Suspense for October.  It is part of the Mission Impassioned mini-series.  I'll give this one 3 stars.  Not as good as Top Secret Bride, which was the September book in the mini-series.

I'm going to start Nauti Boy by Lora Leigh probably tomorrow.  I've got to get my ducks in a row for school tomorrow.

Shari, there are 2 more MacKade brother books out there.  They were originally published as Silhouette Special Editions (or maybe it was Intimate Moments?).  I did enjoy them!

I finished off The Cop.  I just requested The Defender to see how the series turns out.  Anyone think it's worth it to get The PI also?  I was thinking no.

Now I'm on to Sold Into Marriage by Ann Major.  It's a Silhouette Desire that still should be out on store shelves.  Desires are so short I'm sure I'll have it finished in no time, especially since I have the day off tomorrow.

Sarah, I wish he'd turned into Rambo when it first happened! but you're right it was WAY too intense for me esp considering I was tired and wanted a cute sexy 'safe' kidnapping..geez..and I liked this author..sigh...now I dont' trust her LOL! of course her 'in too deep' series had some intense stuff but this one went too far for me in what I look for in a blaze title. I went back to at itle I'd put down earlier this month and am enjoying it. It's tense in places but light and funny.a harlequin red ink' chick lit' book called 'sex, murder and a double latte'..think I'll get the next 2 in this series by kyra davis if I like this one at the end. I don't particularly care for the main c haracter so who cares if she gets offed?? of course I know she wont' since there are other books in the series :-)  she's in her 20s (I think) and is a murder writer and is sexy and uses the 'f' word a lot but I use it too so cant' complain but some might be offended. so far no sex yet..sigh..and doesn't look promising since the one she has the hots for is now numero uno on her suspect list. someone is acting out the murder scenes in her first book and making it subtle enough tha tshe recognizes they're doing it but not enough that the cops will believe her..so it's up to her and her friends to uncover who's doing the violent killings. pretty good and some lines are funny..not roll in the floor but enough to laugh out loud at the silliness and get me over my shock from 'kidnapped'!

ETA: Sarah, I've only read the cop and the PI so far and read those out of order. I liked the PI (some good scenes!) but it overlaps the cop and the cop actually goes farther into the storyline. if you've read the end it would just be rehashing hte same thing with some sex from a different point of view.

Read Sealed With a Kiss by Carly Phillips. It was good. I'm glad Hunter and Molly got their own story.

I started Real Men Do It Better today  It's an anthology I bought primarily for the Lora Leigh story: For Maggie's Sake which is one of her Tempting Seals stories.  It's after Dangerous Games and before Hidden Agendas.  It's DEA agent Joe Marino's story and picks up a few days after Dangerous Games ends.  I guess he only got a short story because he's not a Seal.  I would've liked it to be a full novel but it was still good.

I'm gonna have to read leigh's series..I have them but have only read the 'good' parts from dangerous games LOL!

I'm finishing up a red dress ink book 'sex murder and double latte' by kyra davis. It's pretty good but a lot of slang talk in it. I ordered the next 2 in the series from amazon since this one seems promising and I hate to be ready to read the next in a series and have to wait forever for it.

anyone gonna do the new erotica swap that's started up? I'm thinking about it but not sure yet...

Just got back home (visited the parents -- don't ask! lol), and the flight gave me time to finish up A Hunger Like No Other.  I liked it, and the mix of modern speech and Scottish brogues was funny.  It was a little frustrating to have them get so danged close so many times and not seal the deal!

Moving onto Dangerous Games by Lora Leigh, and I'm still reading Last Chance Saloon by Marian Keyes.

Judy, how's 'last chance saloon'? I have it but didn't get too far into it and ended up getting sidetracked with something else....

just finished 'sex murder and a double latte' and it was good. suprise ending though I sorta suspected the one who really was guilty..mainly because it was too early in the book for it to be the right person! it was a nice enjoyable read and funny considering the brutal murders taking place. now to find something else to read for hte next 3 hours or so til the boss gets here..sigh...

I'm about halfway through Last Chance Saloon and I'm liking it so far!  It's about some thirty-something friends in various stages of relationships, and I can see why it can be difficult to get into -- it jumps back and forth between the friends, and it seems like a never-ending introduction, with very little actually happening in their lives.

I think part of the draw for me is that one of them stays in a miserable relationship because she's afraid to try to find someone else because she's too old.  I have a friend who's thinking of proposing to his gf so they can settle down and have children because he figures it's too late to go and find someone new.  *sigh* It makes me so sad.

So I hope the book character can find the strength to get out of it -- it'll give me hope that my friend will, too!

jus tfinished 'fools rush in' by vicki lewis thompson... a cute short read.think it's an older harlequin temptation. I'm pretty tired so was readng to stay awake but still enjoyed it.

I'll have to go back to 'last chance saloon' but night shift/tired isn't the time for a book that keeps jumping around LOL! I think that's part of what got me with that one..the jumping back and forth plus the little print and bad lighting at the time I was trying ot read it..

Haven't started a book yet, I can't seem to get off of work long enough to be able to read! I worked 9 days straight with one day off and now I'll be working 6 days this week. *sigh*. Sorry for my whining.

Hello everyone!  I had a great reading weekend. Started with 2 of the Blaze Men To Do series. I like them. He was an Indiana Jones type.   Than I read "The Sex Diet" by Rohnda Nelson. Great Book, VERY funny and Hot!   From there I moved west and read "One Wish" by Linda Leal Miller"  It was a western back before Washington was a state. I really enjoyed it. He saved her life when she was 8 and she wanted to grant him one wish. He waited 18 years to collect.  :)

Last night I stayed up way to late to finish up "Blue Flame' by Jill Shalvis. It was GREAT! he was a firefighter!

Well have a good day, if you want to read about any of the books they are listed on my shelf.

Lori

I finished off "Sold Into Marriage" last night.  It was good but a typical Ann Major Silhouette Desire book.  I can think of at least 5 other ones by her with mostly the same plot.  It'd been a while since I've read one by her so it was good.

This morning, I picked up "Navarrone" by Helen R Myers (another Desire).  I've barely started it but it sounds promising.

Hey Mary, I would love to get the White and Red books.  When you are ready to post them let me know and I will get them.  I hope that you get your reading done.  I understand. I am trying not to get any new books but just read.  I am having a hard time of it. :)

I'm off today and I'm trying to convince myself I don't need to go to Goodwill and the used a bit store because I don't need to haul home any more books.  My TBR pile is so steep and I haven't gone thru anything lately to post.  I have been posting just about everything I"ve been reading though which helps some.

I finished A Touch Of Minx by Suzanne Enoch.  Enjoyed it as much as the others in this series (Flirting With Danger, Don't Look Down and Billionaires Love Blondes).  If you aren't acquainted with these books the h is a cat burglar who broke into the home of a sexy, titled  British billionaire (of course) to lift some of his valuable art and ends up saving his life.  They start a relationship and a series of adventures as they solve some mysteries in the world of art theft and have lots of hot sex.

Then I reread Night Magic by Charlotte Vale Allen.  I have never liked any of her other books.  Yawned and quit when I tried to read them.  Yet this one book is in the top twenty romances out of the thousands I have read over the years.  Isn't it funny how that happens?

Now I am reading Just Sex by Susan Kay Law.  I think she is known for historicals, but this is a contemporary.  The h finds out that her husband and the father of her two teenage children has been cheating on her for years.  His attitude is "What are you so upset about, it was just sex."  He says why doesn't she have an affair to even the score, not really thinking that she will.  (She has kicked him out and is thinking divorce).  So she decides to do that.  This isn't so much a  sex book as one about her dealing with getting back out into the world and deciding what she really wants.  I am liking it a lot so far.
