I liked the Judith Arnold, too, Keri. A lovely, sweet story. No spies, no black ops, no wild sex, just really nice people developing a beautiful relationship. It would have been a keeper if it hadn't been requested from me here and I had to mail it out after reading.

I'm hoping to finish The Duke's Agent by Rebecca Jenkins. I'm enjoying it even though it's sort of different. Then it's on to Cloudy with a Chance of Marriage (another book I have started but not finished).

Just finished  Diane Chamberlain's  The Bay at Midnight.  Like are her books it was fantastic.  And of course the ending in her books are NEVER what you think they will be.

I ended up skimming Only His by Susan Mallery.  I loved the first two books of the Fool's Gold Series, hated Book 3 (Pia's story) loved Book 4, got bored in Book 5 and couldn't finish Book 6.  It really didn't have any direction and the situtation between the H/H did not interest me.  I was more interested in Jo and Will's story.  That would have been a great read, but it was an afterthought in this book. The end eluded to 3 more books in the series next year, but I will probably skip them.

Moved on to The Bounty by Beth Williamson and I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read it.  It's been sitting by the bed for a few weeks now and I finally started it and am totally sucked in.  I also have the next book in the series so I think I will start that as soon as I am done with this one.

I will look for The Fixer-Upper.  It sounds good.

It was ok for me. It hit a little too close to home for me with the teenager thing. I also thought there was too much internal dialog and not enough of an ending. I thought Ned was great right up until the end. Libby had made the right decision for Eric and then for Ned to blow up about it. The ending wasn't enough to cover all of that.

Finishing up Bad Boys Do. Have really liked it.  Meatier than the first book, but fun too.

I'm reading The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter.  I love these books, but this "Gideon speak" where he has to say the opposite of what he means is SO confusing!  lol

I know a lot of you are Nook and Kindle owners, and I wanted to pass along information about a new virtual box for romance and erotica ebooks that just opened up: Hot & Steamy eBooks Virtual Box *UNMOD* - LEND BY 10/15.

It's a good way to borrow ebooks in a fun setting. The next round doesn't start until Nov. 1. We need more Nookies! :)

still reading Don't Mess With Texas by Christie Craig - it's ok but I'm not liking it as much as some of her other stuff - the hero wants in her pants just from seeing her - I like at least a little buildup or something other than pure physical attraction. I'm still reading it though and will see how it goes.

also finsihed the audio download H annah's List by Debbie Macomber - none of the people in that book(3 relationships) were ready to be in a relationship IMO - the main heroine was like a child(thought to be fair she wasn't looking for a relationship) and the hero alternated between charming and insulting. the chef 'Pierre' was too hotheaded and Winter wasn't much better - Mark didn't confide something crucial to LeighAnn and ended up committing a crime that shouldn't have been committed for the reasons it was and she was in luv with him...all HEAs as far as the story went but wanted to smack every character. If I'd been reading it wouldv'e been a quick skimthru skip to the end read I think. the narrator was male and very good though. her long drawn out stories are good for highway driving I think - at least sometimes.

I finshed the Iron Duke and loved it!  I pre-ordered Heart of Steel.  Can't wait until it comes!

I'm back to Toni Blake's Detiny Novel - Sugar Creek.  I need to finsh this one so I can read the next one which will need to go back to the library.

I finished but skimmed a lot of Cover Me by Catherine Mann.  Didn't care for the heroine at all.  Plus I didn't feel it was up to her usual standards for the writing.

Starting on Mail Order Cowboy by Laurie Kingery.

Started Trespass by Megan Maguire. I've started my vacation reading, i.e. picking exactly what I feel like with no regard for any other considerations like when it's due or if I owe a review. Now THAT's a vaction. :-\

Talk to you guys in a week. :-)

ooh serpent's kiss is out already?! man I gotta catch up! I'm still soooo far behind on stuff I want to read and now more stuff has come out. I still want to read Cat and Bones' new story - can't wait until Vlad gets his series..wondering if Ian gets a wife in this new one or if he's still waiting around until another story.

oh well at least I'm caught up with lynsay sands, robyn carr, and kerrlyn sparks...I think..robyn has one out pretty soon I think; a christmas story.

still reading Don't Mess With Texas by Christie Craig - it's getting better - just finally figured the hero thinks only of sex no matter what's going on so not expecting anything halfway serious in the book LOL! I like them for the humor but sheesh I think the earlier stuff was a bit better..wish Marianne Stillings would write again.

eta: more into Don't Mess With Texas...it's a light cute read..silly-ish...dead exhubby and friend/assistant almost dead and another case crossing over somehow or other..I still liked her trilogy better she did with the 3 friends and cops.

I'm not loving The Darkest Lie.  I don't know... Gideon just isn't doing it for me.  I like a little more brood to my hero.  He seems so snarky and cavalier.  I'm not very far into it, but I'm not wowed by him or Scarlet.

Loved Serpent's Kiss, awesome continuation of the series. Lots of dangly bits there at the end though. Susanna I agree, I liked Christie Craig's earlier stuff as well, although the Promise Texas book had a lot of fun and wish she would have got to  publish some of those stories. Again I agree with the Marianne Stillings remark...she could really write some good funny romances.

I'm still making my way through Don't Mess With Texas - it's funny but not the same as I remember the earlier stuff being. I'd forgotten about Promise Texas Keri..I wanted a few more stories there too. this one is cute though I'll probably finish tonight. glad to know Serpent's Kiss is good - I'll probably break down and buy that one if I ever see it - maybe Jeaniene Frost's too - but right now I have more than enough to read..just not what I want LOL!

Here I've been off work this week and so far have only finished one of the Kate Angell library books.

And that one took nearly 10 days to finish. Where did the reading bug go?

Work has been a nightmare for me this week, so I haven't done a lot of reading. I got through a few short stories on my Nook, and now am about halfway through with Just For Kicks (Showgirls, Bk 2) by Susan Andersen.

The VB I mentioned before is now taking signups for Round 2 if anyone is interested. :)
