I am starting to read

I liked the first few in this series but wasn't too crazy about book 5. Let's hope book 6 is better.

And Jacki, I really enjoyed There You'll Find Me ALOT!!!

not sure if i'll read Second Chance Summer or Rise of 9 next...  Maybe try to finish Romeo Redeemed on my Kindle first....

Finished Crewel and Eve and Adam - loved Crewel. Eve and Adam was predictable, but I enjoyed it anyways.  Now I'm reading Blood Red Road.  Started off really well and I'm enjoying it but the lack of " " for anyone talking is driving me nuts!!  I even double checked the book to see who published it in case it got by without editing...so odd.

Once again, I think I'll be the odd one out.  Crewel was just okay for me...I found the whole weaving thing kind of confusing.  Oh well.  Starting Carnvial of Sould by Melissa Marr next.

I finished Blood Red Road - it was ok and I will want to read the next one.  But at least I will know what I'm getting into beforehand then! I'm now reading The Hollow by Jessica Verdnay and so far, it's pretty good!

I finished  Charmfall (Dark Elite, Bk 3) :: Chloe Neill last night. I like Chloe Neill's Chicagoland vampire series a lot. This series is not its equal. I don't think she writes for the YA audience very well.  I was really disappointed in book 3. I can't tell you how many t ime they repeated The Magic is gone....

Oh well they are all not great ones.

oh Wendy, just starting that series are you?  The 2nd and 3rd are actually better than the first 1 I thought!

Anyone else read THE NAME OF THE STAR?  I'm 75% of the way done with it...very interesting and spooky!  So different from Johnson's other stuff.

I'm still not reading YA until I finish my Sci Fi Literature class (though the last book in the class is YA - Little Brother by Cory Doctorow), but I just preordered Quintana of Charyn by Melina Marchetta from an Australian bookstore.  It ships Sept 26!  Between this book, the new iPhone, and the 2013 MLB schedule coming out yesterday, it's like Christmas in September for me!

Val, I liked The Name of the Star, but it didn't blow me away.  I liked the setting, but for me it wasn't spooky enough, and I didn't love the MC.

My 17 year old daughter just finished  Enclave (Razorland, Bk 1) :: Ann Aguirre. She loved it. Finished it in a day. she really wanted the next one so Amazon just delivered book 2 Outpost.  I am not a huge dystopian fan every now and then I will read one. I might give Enclave a try.
