I am reading The Bride of Willow Creek by Maggie Osborne and so far it has been good, but a little sad to me.

Still reading Prairie Moon by Maggie Osborne.  I also read Lissa's Cowboy by Jillian Hart - just ok.

Finished WC and really enjoyed it. I can understand why some had issues with it, but understanding the whole story and how it played out, I didn't have issues with it in the end.

I am happy to report that I finally finished Tempt Me Tonight by Toni Blake.  I found it way too long for the story, redundant in many places, it just dragged a lot.  She could have told the story in half the book.  I really like her newer stuff, but this one was not great for me.

Going to start Hidden Summit by RC next..hopefully a quicker read than the last two I read.

Haven't posted in here for a while, but I didn't get much reading done over the holiday. Right now I'm reading Destined (House of Night, Bk 9) by P.C./Kristin Cast. I'm not sure how much more I can take of this series. The major plot points are pissing me off and the teeny bopper language is starting to get to me, too.

I figured it was finally time to read the rest of Kresley Cole's books and this weekend I read 4 and 5 (can't remember the titles lol), Conrad and Cadeon's books. Now I am reading Rydstroms.

I am re-reading the Troubleshooters Series by Suzanne Brockmann in anticipation of the 16th book coming out in paperback on the 31st of this month. The title is Breaking the Rules, it is the Gillman/Zanelly story.

I'm reading Whisper Falls by Toni Blake.  So much for me reading something older from my shelf.  Not only is this NOT older, it's on my Nook.  LOL   A big, muscled, tattoed biker named Lucky?  Yum!  Tessa is kind of a wimpy heroine for him, but it's ok.

I enjoyed that one a lot, Michelle.

Starting The Bro-Magnet. It's first person, which I wasn't expecting, but that's okay.

Lesley Hidden Summit should be a quick read - not too much drama in it except for a nutty ex but even that had some funny  moments - took me a while to finish because of lack of time and being so tired but even with that I finished it.

still on the Shalvis book - animal attraction I think it is - book #2 with Dell and Jade. still not too far along in it - read it both mornings before bed and fell asleep pretty quick(not because of the book LOL!)

I finished Whisper Falls.  I liked it.  BUT.  Tessa was supposed to be 33 and Lucky was 34.  The book read more like they were mid-twenties.  They both had so many insecurities and inner struggles and neither one seemed as mature as they were supposed to be.  The story was good, though, and the romance was so, so sweet.  I loved that Tessa saw beneath the tough biker exterior to the warm, sensitive man inside, but she also found him incredibly sexy.  You could just hear her saying to herself throughout the book "A big, long-haired, tattoed biker does it for me - who knew?"

Michelle, I really liked that one too.  I think I read it not too long after I read Summer in Sonoma by RC, and it was an interesting contrast.  Don't know if you've read that one, but there is a biker in it as well, and the one thing I did not like about that book was the issues that the heroine had with the hero being a biker, even though it was clear that they really connected.

You are right Susanna- I am almost done with Hidden Summit!  I stayed up way too late reading last night, but I am really enjoying this one.  I love the VR series as a whole, but some of the books have been better than others, and some I have been disappointed in.  I am liking this one a lot though.  It is nice to have a hero and heroine who have both been wounded, are carrying those scars and still struggling with issues, but are honest, clear-headed, and still open to the possibilities of the future.  Nice case study of a narcissist in the ex too- I actually know someone who was involved with a guy like that, and it's eerie how close to reality the description of Greg is to my friend's ex.  At one point, we read online about NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) and it was her ex dead-on.  Clearly RC does her research before she throws terminology around!

Lesley is the motorcycle guy the one in summer in sonoma?! I think it's the same guy - I also got pizzed at the heroine in that book for her attitude towards him..he deserved better IMO (someone like me LOL!)

almos tdone with animal attraction - the heroine is getting on my nerves -s igh - hot and cold hot and cold - acts like sh's 16 instead of whatever she is - the hero I can understand having issues but she's driving me nutso!

I decided to read Holly Lane (the next Desiny book by Toni Blake).  I'm having to force myself to get through it.  It's not bad... but the two main characters should have just remained secondary characters.  Sue Ann is a recently divorced single mom dealing with a ton of issues, and Adam is the local good guy who turns out to have a not-so-good secret from his past.  I get the comraderie between them and can feel their friendship, but I'm just not buying it turning into anything more.  I really don't see why these two needed their own story.  It would have been better to have their romance as a secondary storyline in another book.

Susanna, yes, that was the same character!  I was kind of amused that she had him show up in this book, since Summer in Sonoma was unrelated to the VR series, but it was kind of cool.  What's funny is that the minute the biker walked into Jack's bar I suspected it was Walt, though I was surprised when I was right!  Yes, that was exactly what I was talking about being annoyed with that heroine, that she completely judged him on his appearance, and even after she got to know him, was worried about what other people would think of her being with a biker.

I'm reading Holly Lane now too, and managed to get about 1/3 of the way through it.  The problem I'm having with it is just that the heroine hasn't been divorced long enough for me to think that what she has with Adam could be at all serious- to me it seems like she's rebounding, and that never works out.  I guess the fact that she and Adam have known each other all their lives is supposed to be enough, but I just don't buy it- Sue Ann was completely thrown by the divorce, she is still in flux and is barely coping from day to day, so I just don't see this happening.  Even if Adam is the right guy, the timing is all wrong.  I would rather have seen a year or more pass since the divorce and have her already have worked through her issues before getting it on with Adam.

Finally finished Prairie Moon by Maggie Osborne.  Really good book.  I was reading it at bedtime only so took me a little longer to finish but well worth the effort. I loved James.

Now reading Love Finds You in Calico California on my Nook.

I finished Holly Lane.  Lord, Sue Ann and her issues.... yikes.  Talk about running hot & then cold.  No wonder Adam acted like a jerk.  lol   I understand that she was trying to come to terms with her divorce, but sheesh.  I thought that Adam really turned out to be quite a nice, strong, sexy hero towards the end (before that I was unimpressed).  Sue Ann was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too uptight  and wishy-washy for me, though!

Started The Black Hawk but just wasn't in the mood. Now reading an old Harlequin for a GR buddy read -- old fashioned secretary/boss story, such a snoozer! I may give up. It's 253 pages too, WTH? These old Harlequins are supposed to be nice and short!

I am loving Jack's book in Between The Devil and Desire! Does anybody know if does Dr. Graves get his own story or HEA at some point?

If not I will be happy to marry him, I am sure my hubby won't mind...really! :-)
