I'm at work and somewhat awake so thought I'd go ahead and start the new thread.

I decided to continue reading 'Shooting Gallery' by Hailey Lind even though it's not the first book in the series :-( sorta bummed a bit over that but since I have it figure I may was well go ahead and see if I can follow it. the character is pretty outspoken and not a goody-two-shoes - she apparently has a shady past in the art world doing forgeries and such and knows art thieves, etc. I'm debating finding out the order and requesting the others or putting them on my wishlist..lots of art talk(art lover's mystery) that I'm just not 'getting' but I'll see after I finish if I want to go back and read the others, esp with so many other books in mt tbr!

I still plan on reading The Mane Attraction by Shelly Laurenston!

I finished the anthology Snowy Nights last night but wasn't tired so decided to start the Ellora's Cave anthology Primal Heat.  Read the 1st 2 stories. The one by Sherri King was good and I'll have to see if I have anything by her in my TBR. The second one was Lorie O'Clare's first Lunewulf story, which was super short. I had already read book 2 in that series so I was interested in the first.  It didn't go nearly into the depth that I expected after reading the 2nd. No doubt I will read the other 2 shorts today, its got a Lora Leigh breed story in it which is the reason I bought this book. Reading it out of order but that's ok, just a short story.

Finished The Book of True Desires by Betina Krahn.  I really enjoyed this book. It was a change of pace, alot of the story taking place in Mexico, early 1900's and dealing with Mayan myths.  The characters were witty with alot of cute one liners, good adventure and romance. I had previously read The Book of the Seven Delights also by Betina Krahn and also enjoyed it. Another good change of pace book IMO.

I'm getting ready to start Burning Tigress by Jade Lee, first book I've read by her.

I got the next Virgin River book in my book club order yesterday from Harlequin, I haven't read the others yet but want to, need to check and see if I even have any of them yet lol!

The Viking Warrior by Connie Mason = B-O-R-I-N-G.  My cat could have written a better book.   I only finished it (skimmed 3/4ths) because my husband bought it for me as an Anniversary present.

Currently reading Shadow of the Moon by Rebecca York.  Not far into it but not feeling it so far.  I'm going to give it a few more chapters...

I read One Night With a Goddess by Judi McCoy yesterday--it was okay, nothing spectacular--and I've started Take No Prisoners by Cindy Gerard.

Oh great, I have several Connie Mason on my TBR.....well if they are skimmers maybe I can get them off the list soon LOL!

Finished Primal Heat anthology....loved it, I always like those Breed stories by LL. Going to go and start Fall Fury (Devlin Dynasty, Bk 2) :: Jaci Burton after I deal with the dryer and the kitchen.

I just finished You Don't Know Jack by Erin McCarthy.  I enjoyed it.  A fun, hot story with two very likeable characters!

Finishing up The Wildest Shore. Even though I got bogged down, I think it's got a lot going for it, especially if you're tired of the same-old same-old and like strong heroines and vulnerable heroes. I just don't like adventure stories much.

I finished Murder Game by Christine Feehan and generally liked it.  the hero Kadan has been a fav of mine in the series so I was happy to have him find love.  And I enjoyed his heroine although her power was brutal.  I kinda skimmed the murder game stuff towards the end I must admit.  I will start on Witch Heart by Anya Bast next.

I'm reading All U Can Eat by Emma Holly.  I picked it up out of BN.com's bargain bin when I was shopping for other stuff back before Christmas.  It's pretty good, romantica with a mystery.

Finished Kiss of Crimson. It was good, better than the first book. The next one sounds interesting too, perhaps I'll dive right in.

I finished Shooting Gallery by Hailey Lind. I didn't realize it wasn't the first in the series til I started it..so I requested the 1st from here. The woman is pretty spunky though some of the stuff near the end and a few other places reminded me of Stephanie Plum..with the silliness being thrown in with something that should be a bit more serious. I liked it though.

I'm reading Running Wild by Sarah McCarty - tired and at work and how hers usually are I may not get too far anyways but boss is due here in another hour so probably wont' get too much farther. It's a werewolf paranormal that has 3 stories. I was 'supposed' to be reading The Mane Attraction by Shelly Laurenston but I had it out in the car and I wanted something to read before sleeping and this one was handy...unless it's just ick I'll probably get through the first story at least or maybe go ahead with the book, then get back to Laurenston!

I just finished A Hunger Like No Other (The Immortals After Dark Series, Book 1) by Kresley Cole.  I didn't like the beginning too much, but it got a lot better towards the end.

I started Driven By Desire (Signet Eclipse) by LuAnn McLane yesterday night.  It's pretty good so far, but I'm only about 20 pages into it.  I have always like LuAnn McLane's books though.

I'm reading Heart Mate by Robin Owens. It looked pretty original and I was excited to get it in the mail and start reading it, but it isn't what I was expecting. Of course it started off with a "misunderstanding" which put me off right away. I'm not sure if I'll finish it, which is a bummer because the synopsis sounded so good.

I did read some erotica in the past week or two. One by Mary Wine called Tortoise Tango, which is a strange name but the book ended up being pretty good. The hero is a SEAL turned small-town sheriff and was pretty hot. The heroine left plenty to be desired, though. I think the author is newer because the writing seemed a little unfocused, but it was good for what it was. I also read North Wolf by M. A. Everaux and really enjoyed that one, except for a few stupid moves by the heroine. It'll probably end up as a keeper.

Well I finished Shadow of the Moon by Rebecca York.  It picked up enough to hold my interest but then turned sappy at the end and kind of ruined it for me.  <sigh>  Its hard to find a good werewolf romance these days.   Anyway, now I'm reading Untamed by Pamela Clare.  Only a couple pages in but so far so good.

Finally finished A Breath of Snow and Ashes last night- wow!  September cannot come soon enough!  I hope I don't forget too much before An Echo in the Bone comes out, because I won't have time to reread it!  One of the reasons I put this book away several months ago is that I just didn't want it to be over, didn't want to be left waiting for the next book to come out, so in a way, I'm sorry that I finished it.  But, what a great story.  I'm not ready to start anything else yet- still kind of digesting the last 100 pages or so.  I did start skimming through the Outlandish Companion last night, but apparently that only covers up through book 4.

I also read a book for the cowboy swap, which I cannot disclose.  It was ok.

Sarah, I've read one book by Mary Wine(and think I have the one you just read in my smut order from EC!) and it was 'ok'..not super duper great - a pretty thin book. I have the sequel to that one in tbr..think it's about her son. they're psyshci and proteced/used by the government.

no reading for me since last night..about to go car shopping and hopefully will find what I want..gotta test drive again to make sure.my first choice is too expensive I think..don't think it's worth that much more to get the same features but a different 'brand'..sigh...wanted honda civic but think I'm going with the toyota corolla S with the sports package...looks cuter! the console/dashboard isn't my fave but it has the other stuff I want without me having to buy top of the line and still have to add on options..just 1 option and 2 pkgs and I'm set...wish me luck 'cause I'd love to be done this afternoon so I can relax and enjoy reading tonight and tomorrow night!

I'll probably read more of Running Wild by Sarah McCarty or get back to The Mane Attraction by Shelly Laurenston...was only a few pages into that one but it was looking good! Wanna see how Running Wild turns out though and if she overlaps the characters from the other stories..it has 3 stories titled by the guy's first name. each ends up with a sister.

I started reading Witch Heart by Anya Bast last night - it hasn't grabbed me yet but I'm only a few chapters in.  I hope it picks up since I really enjoyed the previous book in the series.

I'm reading Sweet Talk by Susan Mallery.    This is my first book by her and really don't know what to think.

The people in it are so unnaturally mean to the heroine.  I just don't think people would act like this in the real world.

I absolutely hate the sister.  Weird book!

That's good to hear Rose, I have Alien Overnight in my TBR.

Jen, are you holding up a book that you wrote? Share your name and the title please?? eta: I looked up your web site, the story sounds good! Is it erotica?  I want to read it!
