It's a new week and it sure is reading weather!

I'm working through Bond of Fire by Diane Whiteside (Texas Vampires 2). A real slow starter, but I'm up to page 150 and it's getting better.

I finished The Golden Season by Connie Brockway & frankly, I was pretty disappointed.  It's not a bad book, but I sorta feel cheated; like I ran out bought a new Brockway & there was something else inside the cover:P  The H&H just did not have any chemistry.  Nothing really physical starts happening until way late in the book & I was so not into them as a couple by then, the big love scene felt like it was dropped on me out of nowhere.  The best I could give this is maybe a B-, and I'm not even sure if it rates that, or I'm just cutting it some slack because it's a Brockway.

I just read/finished SUMMER OF TWO WISHES by Julia London.    If you enjoy torn between two love(r)s type of stories, you'll love this book.

I put away The Black Sheep and the Hidden Beauty for the time being- just can't get into it right now for some reason.  I started Deep Dish by Mary  Kay Andrews, which so far is a light, easy read.

I'm trying to decide what to read next..finished Swinging on a Star. It's 2nd in that series and I thought each book would be a separate romance but this one had the same couple and a bunch of scattered things throughout. was a bit bummed but I like the main couple..this one does have a lot of 'religion' in it which is usually a turn-off for me but this one didn't really bother me.

may start Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts or something shorter..have to decide once I'm at work I guess!

I am about a quarter into Higgin's The Next Best Thing, so far so good. I will give a more in depth review when I get finished.

Reading As an Earl Desires by Lorraine Heath. It's interesting how her books intersect.

Reading Covet by JR Ward. Not the kind of thing that I usually read. This is my first by her, and I have read that it is not as good as her other series. I'll keep slogging through it.

Read an ebook yesterday, Chameleon by Angelique Anjou. Good but too short!

I am reading Beau Crusoe by Carla Kelly and I'm enjoying it. I've also been reading some free ebooks by Ruth Ann Nordin, western historicals that remind me a bit of Carolyn Davidson's stuff.

I finished Seduction Island by Lorie O'Clare, and despite a bit of an anticlimactic ending, I enjoyed it overall.

Now I'm about halfway through Unlaced by various. So far I've liked the Jasmine Haynes story best, getting ready to start the Joey W. Hill now.

A quick update: this is my first true exposure to Joey W. Hill. Though I have many of her books, I haven't actually read one yet. Judging by this short story of hers, I'm going to really enjoy her writing! ;-)

I  just finished Switch by Megan Hart (didn't thrill me - way too much going on with the character and her life - I got kinda bored half-way through the book). I'm now reading some Harlequins (my 2010 goal is to read all of of the Harlequins in my TBR pile - I have about 40+ and some have been there a long time).

Gina - I really enjoyed Unlaced - Jasmine Haynes story was my favorite (an older heroine - yeah!) but the Joey W. Hill story is HOT!

Sorry Susanna, I was slow on the uptake on the other thread. :-) I finished KH's The Next Best Thing, overall I would give it an B+ and it is her usual fare of the woman's POV and not enough of the hero's. Ethan was one heck of a stand up guy and I did want to hit Lucy on the head a time or two and say come on girl give it up already, the man is hot for you time to give up the martyrdom...or something like that. :-) Was it one of my most favs of hers? No, and the only reason i say that, is because Lucy was blind for way too long in the book it became boring, we got that she loved Jimmy with all her heart, we get it, but Ethan deserved a bit better than he got. IMHO. That being said, I cannot wait until her next book comes out!   Now on to NR's Bed of Roses.

which of hers are good Keri? I think I have a couple more of hers somewhere in mt tbr. what a coincidence - I just started Bed of Roses tonight! I'm liking it so far though I'd already forgotten the main characters! Probably be reading on this one for a while since every time I pick it up here at work something comes in to run! I think it's one I'll like though..I was looking over my list from last month and one basically sucked, 3 or so were 'ok' and the best/good reads were Forbidden Falls and JAK/Amanda Quick's books! thank goodness for those!

Susanna, I haven't read a "bad" book by her yet. She only has four out and they are all good, but Catch of the Day by far remains my most favorite one, the date scenes in that one were hilarious! Since I have had a few dates like that, I could relate. Too Good Too Be True is my next fav. Just pick one you won't be sorry. :-)

I'm reading Tucker's Claim by Sarah McCarty.  I hate reading a series out of order, but I got tired of waiting for Sam's Creed.  I think I've been #5 on the WL forever.

I finished Megan's Mark by Lora Leigh but just barely.   I had to struggle through it.  I didn't get Megan or Braden at all.  But I was afraid to DNF because they always put some little tidbit in there you need to know for future books.   I'd give it 2 stars, maybe.

Not sure what I'm reading next.  I may try one of the ebooks I have on my desktop.

I  hear you, Michelle. I'm No. 1 on three different WLs right now, and have been for months. It's killing me!

Finished up my old Zebra romance Master of Her Heart - it was okay, it dragged in the middle and I wanted to slap the hero upside his head and just say "tell her the truth already!"

Now onto my controversial HTF title Stormfire by Christine Monson - ummm wow.  This book is making me feel uncomfortable and dirty(and that is saying something right there!).  Within the first 30 pages you have the heroine brutally raped by the hero - then smacked around, then starved.  So right now I cannot see how she could ever come to care about him and how the hell you could get a HEA out of this - I'm thinking it will turn into Stockholm syndrome or something.

But of course like a car wreck I can't look away and I'm still reading.
