Almost to the middle of Show No Mercy by Cindy Gerard and I just got passed the shaving scenes. I love shaving scenes, although this one wasn't quite as sexy as PC's in Surrender. :-)

I started the first story in Sexy Beast 9. Not sure why Kate Douglas isn't in this anthology, since she was in the other 8.  Also still reading Cast in Shadow, and have another week to finish Alpha before I have to mail it.

Michelle, I read Safe Haven and DIDN'T cry.  It was the very first time with a Nicholas Sparks novel, but it also was one of my least favorite things he's written.  I was all ready for a big cry-fest.

I finished Christie Craig's "Shut Up and Kiss Me" last night.  It was my favorite of hers so far.  Lots of truly laugh out loud moments.  I'm starting Patricia Brigg's "Masques" today.

Yes, SU and KM was a fun read, but what sucks is, as it stands right now, her publisher is not goiing to let her continue the series. She has already started writing a trilogy about ex-cops who are ex-cons, sounds like fun, but I wanted to get Jose's story after he had such a rough time in SU and KM.

I like Christie Craig! wish Marianne Stillings would find another publisher..sigh..liked her too.

I finshed Love ona Dime by Cara james last night..it was decent I guess..I wasn't overwhelmed but it was a library book and I'll probably continue the series..this one had the couple with a misunderstanding the whole time and engagement to the wrong guy..just wasn't my cuppa though parts I found interesting. the ending was also abrupt so I'm guessing parts will continue into the next books in the series.

I started MacKenzie's Mountain by Linda Howard -re-read time for 5 of the RT fall challenges! I have til the end of December so no hurry really but figure I could concentrate on these shorter stories and getting to 'play' with my ereader since I got those in ebook format a while back..one of my first purchases along with Brockmann's Tall dark and dangerous series on ebook. I'm also wanting to read Mistress by Amanda Quick(library book)

I dnf'd Atlantis Betrayed by Alyssa Day.  A few scenes were eye rollers so I just gave it up.  Going to start on Enemy Lover by Karen Harlow sometime today.

I am taking a little break from romance and reading The Earth Abides by George R. Stewart.   I love the apocalypse novels, but I think that these authors should write with a romance writer to give some juice to their novels.  If this guy had co-authored with Linda Lael Miller or Linda Howard, he would have had a best seller.  The author has a fascinating premise and can't even bring some warmth to the relationship between him and his dog!   If he meets a woman, I cringe........

Finished Show No Mercy and I really enjoyed it. This one felt more real than alot of military romances, at least to me. I had started Marsha Canham's The Pride of Lions.

Finished off the last of Kresley Cole's If You D...series.  Am now reading Highland Obssession by Dawn Halliday.  This is a new to me author.  Still have no desire to pick up the 2 paranormals I started a few weeks ago - Crave and Taken by Midnight.  Both by author's I've really enjoyed in the past.  Sooner or later I'll be back in the mood for that genre.  Okay, off to do some work!!

I finished Mackenzie's Mountain...mad that this ebook collection lets you keep reading but put Maris' story last instead of next to last so I'll have to go back to the table of contents twice to read in order! oh well..I may take a Mackenzie break and read Mistress by Amanda Quick or something else I have handy..going out of town today 4 hr drive and will probably have som ereading time at my parents'.

I just finished Judith Ivory's "Untie My Heart".  I loved this book and the story.  I just recently discovered Judith Ivory.  She hasn't written a lot of books (5 under the name Ivory) and 4 under the name Cuevas) but every book I have read would be a keeper for me if I kept books.  The unfortunate thing is that she is no longer writing.  I read somewhere on the Internet that she has severe back problems.

Anyway, if you haven't read any of her books, I highly recommend you give her a try.  I have three of her books on my bookshelf.

I'm still reading The Vampire Queen's Servant by Joey W. Hill. It's actually moving kinda slow for me, but that could be just because I had a busy weekend.

On an unrelated note, has anybody heard from Colleen K. (libsbooks) lately? I saw that she hasn't been in any of the forums since July, and a PM I sent her is still unread. I hope she's OK! frown

I'm still on Dawn in Eclipse Bay by Krenz, and it's fine.  I do like the way she writes and I like the characters, but I am getting annoyed with the constant references to "Hartes this" and "Madisons that".  Cripes, there is at least one on every.single.fricking.page!  I am not fond of sweeping generalizations, so declaring the Harte/Madison way in every 4th paragraph is wearing on my last nerve.  As far as I can tell, two old guys determined what their family's "way" was going to be decades ago and now their grandchildren are struggling to live up to the family name, but yet are too stupid or clueless to decide that it's ok to just be themselves and not have to fit some outdated family mold.  I don't know if my patience for this is going to hold up through the third book, since I'm only halfway through this one and have about had it.

Gina, I haven't seen Colleen on Goodreads for quite awhile either.  Maybe I'll try to send her a message there and see if she turns up.  I hope she's ok too!

ETA, I just went and checked, and she hasn't updated her Goodreads since the end of September.  Ditto her romance blog.  I sent her a message through Goodreads- will post if I hear back from her.

Good, I'm glad someone's trying to get through to her. I see that she has a FB page, but I didn't feel right trying to "friend" her through there. I had checked her blog and such too, and saw she hadn't logged in in a while. Maybe she's just busy reading! smiley

I'm friends with Colleen on Facebook so I just sent her a message.

I finished reading Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks and I loved it.  It was definitely not your typical Sparks novel - a bit darker, more romantice suspense almost than romance, and not as heart-wrenching.  It definitely kept my interest and I liked the main characters a lot.

Leslie that feud goes on and on in all 3 books somewhat.I liked the 2nd book the best - the one whre the heroine has the dating service and the hero is the businessman she can't find a match for! I thought it was the best of the 3.

still reading Mackenzie's Mission by Linda Howard...

I finished Canham's The Pride of Lions and it was really good. I have my review up on GRs. It was a 4 star for sure.

Susanna, it's not the feud that bothers me, it's the constant referencing of their families "ways" that grates on my nerves.   Right, don't take any personal responsibility, just blame the inherent family traits, because THAT'S ALL THAT'S IMPORTANT.  And you know it's IMPORTANT because it is mentioned on every single page ofevery book.  Geez. how about trying to be an individual???  Arrgh!  Well, I appreciate knowing that this continues into the next book...I will have to take a long break after this one before the third one I think.
