Well i read a horror story that could SO be a very cool slasher flick. LOL   Truck Stop by John Penney.

And now im reading The Erotic Dark by Nina Lang.  It decent so far, but im getting a tad annoyed at the words 'rump' and 'stalk'.  Those are not sexy words. And they're used a LOT.

I read a fantastic book called Tracker by James Rollins.  Now I'm reading Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis, a YA paranormal.

Still reading My Reckless Surrender by Anna Campbell.  Not too far into it...I read a review that said it was a 5 star hero paired with a 1 star heroine.  I really understand that... I don't like Diana at ALL.  Ugh.  I might even DNF this, even though I really like Campbell's books.

Sherri, Tracker was a great read...loves me some Tucker and Kane. In honor of Halloween, I am reading Larry Coriea's Monster Hunter International and it has been pretty good so far....not a usual genre for me at all. Kresley Cole's Arcana Chronicals will be here tomorrow...sure hasn't been very good reviews on it.

Oh I was baaaddd this weekend...I finished Rainshadow Road and couldn't wait to read Dream Lake, so I went to Target and bought it new.  I feel so icky when I do that anymore!  But it was really good- I finished it in less than 24 hours!  Bummer that the next one doesn't come out for a few more months.

In the meantime I had already started Susanna Kearsley's The Winter Sea but only got a chapter in.  So I will be getting back into that one next.

Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis was a DNF. The dialog was horrible.  I've picked back up the Sentinel Wars series by Shannon Butcher, which I hadn't read in quite a while, so I'm now reading Living Nightmare.  Took me a while to get back into it and remember what was going on.

Hey all! Back to work today after two weeks off for surgery. I wasn't on PBS that much — but I sure did get a lot of reading done! I won't even get into everything read here, but right now I'm trying to finish Enticing: The Buckhorn Brothers: Casey / Caught in the Act by Lori Foster. I read the first story in this one ages ago, but I'm having trouble getting into this one. Which is a shame, because I was looking forward to Mick's story.

After DNFing 3 or 4 romances in a row, I decided I needed to switch genres and started a book called _Goodbye For Now_. I have no idea why it was on my TBR, but I like it.

Gina, I don't know what it is about the Buckhorn Brothers series, but I couldn't get into it either, and I had read and liked many, many other Lori Foster books before I tried that one.  You are not alone in that!

Hope your surgery went well, and that you recover quickly!

That's been happening to me too Willa.  I switched up and now I'm enjoying romance again.

Glad to have you back Gina!

I finished Slightly Wicked (not Simply, I was getting the two series confused :P) I was thinking about what to read next and I have too many series started and so many more I need to start yet! It might be a Shayla Black (never read her) that I need to send out. Not sure yet. I think I need to organize my TBR.

Gina, I don't know what it is about the Buckhorn Brothers series, but I couldn't get into it either,

Lesley, it was actually the other story I couldn't get into (part of her PI series that started with Fallen Angel). I read Casey's story a few months back, and actually liked that one best out of the Buckhorn Brothers books. Yeah, Foster can definitely be hit or miss, but she's usually a hit for me. And thanks...the surgery went well and my recovery went quicker than I expected. :)

am now reading Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas.

Sooo disturbing, yet sooo good, Melissa! Very dark.

Reading a very interesting indie ebook, The Stone Crow by Lori Green.  Reminds me a bit of American Gods.

Dang I admire you Tonya, I cant do that. LOL    If I have more than one going at a time it has to be completely different genres. Maybe a romance and a horror book. Or a romance and a cozie or a true crime or something. If I read more than one of the same genre at the same time I get them mixed up.

Reading Under an Enchantment, a historical novella by Anne Stuart. Like it so far, though I was hoping to use it for a paranormal challenge and it's not actually paranormal. surprise Planning to start Lean on Me by HelenKay Dimon, my first book by her -- a netgalley book *and* fits a challenge. I love when it works that way. :-)

I finished My Reckless Surrender, and man, Anna Campbell really redeemed herself by the end of this book!  I was completely disappointed with the book halfway through and considered making it a DNF.  I'm soooooooooooooooo glad I didn't.  Tarquin was such an incredible hero that he absolutely made the book.  Diana was a terrible heroine, honestly.  She was selfish and shallow and deceitful and even though she KNEW she was being all of that, she still went ahead with her scheme.  She lied to and betrayed Tarquin at every turn, even while she was falling in love with him.  To his credit, he saw beneath the surface with her and stood by her and let himself fall in love with her despite everything.  My only gripe with the book is that you, as the reader, understand Diana's reasoning and can maybe even sympathize with her, and it's obvious that Tarquin understood as well, but I never really felt that he got to see all of the good in her.  He seems to look past all of her evasiveness and dishonesty to find the woman within, but you don't ever get to see him SEE that, kwim?  The emotion in this book was so one-sided.... he wanted her and wanted to change his life for her and fell in love with her, and most of the sentiments on her side revolved around how much she hated herself for doing what she did to him.  I loved the ending of the book, though, and thought it was a very heart-wrenching, emotional read.
