New week!

I'm reading kindle freebie Taboo. Kind of icky, though I guess that shouldn't be a surprise. ;-)

I dnf'd Harmony's Way by Lora Leigh.  It was bad - even for LL.  I think part of my brain actually melted.

Finishing up A Darker Shade of Freed and she should have stopped at the second book, this one is just boring.

Not sure what's up next.

I'm reading Surrender to Me by Shayla Black.  I really don't know why I don't just DNF it.  I'm all for an alpha Navy SEAL hero, and a little BSDM is ok... but this is ridiculous.  How many times can Hunter say "I will show you what you're really like so you can find your true nature & I can make you happy in every way", then Kata will balk because her mom is under her stepfather's control and she will NOT lose herself like her mom did.  Ugh ugh ugh.

I am currently reading Gaelen Foley's My Dangerous Duke and I like it better than the first one.

Reading Wolfe's Hope by Lora Leigh.  Yeah, I know. I'm a glutton for punishment.  Trying to finish up that series

ETA: read.  Not bad but I thought it would be longer.   3.5 stars

Now reading Jacob's Faith by LL.

I read a YA last night, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. I love YA usually but this one just didnt do anything for me.

Sherri i need to pick the Breeds series back up too. I think i left off at Megan's Mark. I love LL though.

I read Justice and Brawn by Laurann Dohner. I am still enjoying this series, but I just want to shake the heroines sometimes. It is nice though to see the heroes be such big dominant alphas but still be vulnerable at times, even crying. I wouldn't reccomend reading them back to back lol

DNF'd Taboo. Too icky for me. I think she wrote it for people who really want to read incest stories but don't have the balls. ;-) Now finishing up meh anthology called Scandalous Weddings.

I am finishing up Somebody to Love by Kristan Higgins - it is a WINNER! I like very much how she wove former characters into this book, but yet the story remains solely with the main characters. She kept true to her humorous, very likeable characters with Parker and James. While I love all of her books, the last two or three haven't thrilled me as much as her earliest releases, but this one seems to go back to what I like about KH's books.

I recently (yesterday) finished the Hunger Games series. Mind-boggeling, and so different that what I normally read that I need to go back and immerse myself in romance novels!!! I don't know what is up next, but Robyn Carr's latest should arrive in the mail tomorrow, so maybe I'll dive right in. Hopefully it is better than the last two (or three)!

Ditto what Willa said about Taboo...it's just icky!

Tried to read a Blaze titled Not Just Friends by Kate Hoffmann.  I honestly love this author, but this just didn't do it for me.  Way too cheesy!

Started I Kissed an Earl. Not madly in love yet, but also not bored to tears, which has been my usual reponse to historicals lately, so I'll hope for the best.

finally finished Uneasy Alliance by JAK - might've been the first time I"ve read it cover to cover - actually liked it better but the hero is pretty overbearing though not as bad as the one in Stormy Challenge - still one of my guilty pleasures though!

thinking I may read Simply Sensual by Carly Phillips for another RT challenge. also have a rachel gibson book to read (either her or crusie so I may re-read one of gibson's since crusie isn't my fave and I've already read bet me and another I liked.

Another 50 pages in to Surrender to Me and I still don't get it.  How can a Dom want a submissive to surrender to him, let him control every aspect of her pleasure, give everything to him, and yet insist that she keep her independence and fiery nature and all that?  I'm with Kata (the heroine) on that one - he wants a doormat, not a partner.

I just finished A Week to Be Wicked by Tessa Dare and just loved it. Going to stick with historicals and next read Passion Wears Pearls by Renee Bernard - a book I requested from the library.

Finished Lover Avenged and holy crap on a cracker, the drama. I'm not one who usually likes a whole lot of angst, but this was hard to put down. Plus I really wanted to bitch slap all those people who treated John Matthew wrong. Truth be told, John Matthew is the main reason I read these books. I'm not sure what's up next, possibly Lover Mine but I may need a break from that soap opera.

Just finished Simply Shameless by Kate Pearce and really hated it. Next up is Simply Wicked and it's starting out a better. I liked the first two books in this series but if SS had been first, I'd have never read the rest.

I'm glad I got them with the Kobo codes and didn't pay full price if they are going to be this bad.

I tried to read the first book in Virna DePaul's paranormal ops series.  Hated it.  Hated her voice.  Hated the story.  Ugh.  I'm having an awful week for reading.

The first one I was not a fan of, liked the 2nd one, and hated the third. Her publisher dropped her too and her 3rd is self pubbed. I would not read a 4th if shes writing it lol

I am going to start Tiger by Laurann Dohner tonight, the last so far in the series...no clue what to read next. Might pick another series just so I can have a 'next book' without having to pick one. Does that make sense? Been in a reading slump lately.

I haven't read it, but am perfectly willing to tell you I found it ridiculous. cheeky The odds are extremely good, after all!
