Happy Mother's Day!

I read Running Scared by Billie Jean this weekend. Thank goodness it was free. It was ridiculous and pretty unbelievable. I mean the guy was ready to go immediately after just getting there, multile times. Puh-lease. However, I read the whole book.

I'm not sure what's up next its probably going to be The Wolf's Mate Book 6: Logan & Jenna by R.E. Butler.

happy mother's day!

between books - well not really but not too intothe one I was reading -n ot bad just not hooked. had to have my lab put to sleep yesteday - nightmare- she went downhill almost overnight and nothing I could do but watch her suffer- getting her in the car would have hurt her - luckily an at-home vet had started a business with pet hospice, etc and squeezed me in and did everything including taking for cremation. I tried to get a place to come out fri night but apparently they don't check messages unti they feel like it. still crying so may reach for an older jayne ann krentz and try to lose myself in it. at least it was peaceful though and I had no choice other than to let her waste away another day or so in pain. made the decision easy but not losing her.

Aw, so sorry Susanna.  I hope you can find a nice cozy book to help take your mind off it.

I'm so sorry Susanna.  That's a hard thing to do. I'm so glad you were strong enough to make the right decision though. My mom's got one right now that I really believe needs to be put down. So far my mom's not been able to do it.  sad

Happy Mother's Day!

I'm 85% into Games of the Heart. Gotta say, I'm lovin' Mike just as much as I thought I would.  Although, Joe remains my fave of The 'Burg  men.

Huggs Suzanna. Sorry I haven't been on much but since I lost my ability to post on my PC it has been difficult. I have been reading some good stuff like Jo goodman's True to the law and kerrelyn sparks forbidden nights with a vampire Some not so good and some I am just having a hard time getting into. I have started and put down more books lately than I have in the last 6 months, Happy Mother's Day to all.

Ok, so I finished Games of the Heart. Freakin' amazing. I was just as much invested in Fin and Reese's love story as I was with Mike and Dusty's.  Loved every minute of it.

I was gonna read Short Rides next but seen that the first story takes place after Cowboy Casanova and that's where I left off at in the Rough Rider's. So looks like I'm reading that one next!

So sorry Susanna - I know how that feels.  Hugs.

Well today I read Colonist's Wife by Kylie Scott. It was a good scifi romance.  Anne I think you would like it.

well I ended up starting WIldest Hearts by JAK - one of my favroite books. last night started a Lorelei James rough raw and ready I htink - with Trevor and the other guy - ended up skimming for the hot stuff an that was most ofthe book - will probably go bak and actually read-read the story..was tired and needed a distraction. worked on a puzzle a little bit too. today is supposed to be pick up book at librray and clean house day....not going to plan so far but library doesn't open til noon...

thinking about getting a kindle paperwhite..any opinions? I need easy to read. not fond of hte fire and nook color(got all refurbed and pretty cheap) and the kindle touch is ok but not 'bright' - been using my ipada nd like it but the screen has that computer glare to it but I can see both pages when I hold it sideways and less page turning with the bigger font size since the screen is bigger. thought the paperwhite might be easier on the eyes and more portable and need less charging...

Yes to both of those. Very much so. If you are looking to save, search for refurbished Paperwhite on the Amazon site. Last time I looked they were $104. Fantastic little reader for Amazon content and side loaded mobi files.

You can also consider the Kobo Glo but don't know that you'll find it cheaper than $129. That one is great for side loaded epubs, as well as Kobo books and also can be authorized for Adobe library books. It also has a micro SD card slot.

Both are easy on the eyes, in all lighting conditions with great battery life and very portable. The Kobo Glo is a little lighter and smaller than the paperwhite.

If you want even smaller and lighter (but not lighted) the Kobo Mini is great, and I might know a PBS member who is selling one.

I've just made a comparison between my Kobo Glo and my Paperwhite here, if anyone is interested.

If only the Mini had a light it would be the coolest little pocket ereader ever! If they make one, I'm buying it.

Susanna, Sherri has spoken! You can ask her about it if you are interested hehe. I love my Mini, I'd have bought from Sherri but I had already ordered one elsewhere.

Just finished Hard Bitten this morning which was good up until the end. Hated the ending.

Not sure what is next. Decided to read Working Stiff by Rachel Caine.

Susanna, so sorry about your dog.  We had to put both of our older dogs down in the last 2  years.  It's so hard, but they're better off now.

Cyndi, after Hard BItten, I had to go right to the next book (Drink Deep, I think).  I HAD to know what happened next, or I would've gone nuts.

I'm having a really hard time getting into anything right now.  We're trying to get the house ready to move so I really need to clear off my TBR, but nothing appeals very much.  I've been about 1/4 of the way into Christie Ridgway's Bunglaow Nights for about 4 days and it doesn't seem to be picking up.

I finished The Rake to Ruin Her by Julia Justiss. It was good, if a little lackluster towards the end. 3.5 stars. Now I need to read the rest of Hot Ice by Cherry Adair.

Renee, I'm 17th in line for the next one. I posted a question on the paranormal board asking what happens in the next book but no one has answered it yet.

Cyndi, I'm getting ready to post the rest of the series, would you like them?  I can post them to  you if you'd like.

I realized that I hadn't yet read Deadlocked, and I should be getting the next Sookie next week, so I shoved that one to the top of my TBR. I still love reading about these characters, but I am definitely ready for the series to be over. And I definitely don't like the way the romance plot has veered. We shall see.

Now I'm reading Simply Voracious (House of Pleasure, Bk 8) by Kate Pearce.
