well I decided to start the 2nd book in the Dixie Hemingway series but thank God I only read a page (thanks to my breakfast being a 2handed job!) before peeking at reviews on amazon and reading about horrible animal torture images that thanks to one reviewer I may as well have read first-hand sad so I tossed the book aside - I seriously think I'll skip the rest of the series which is too bad because I wanted to see if she ended up with the cop from book 1 but not enough to read about animal torture.

so...I picked up Hot Flash by Kqthy Carmichael..a library book that's due Saturday and I briefly started a few weeks ago but put aside for something else. If it doesn't grab me I'll switch to something else..right now Calico Rancy by Mary Connealy, Nosy in Nebrasky(3 short mystery romances) by Mary Connealy(found out they republished several different 3 book mystery trilogies from this christian romance publisher -forgot which one but think it's heartsong - into a tradesize volume - there's maryland, georgia..and a few others I ordered to check out since they were so cheap(cbd.com)..well and a bunch of others in the car LOL! I'm hoping this one will grab me but not make me hungry..putting off Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts because of the food but this one has a chef heroine as well..sigh..oh well maybe I'll read this one then Savor the Moment and get it over with! smiley

I'm reading two books: Victorious Star and Twenties Girl. Very different but enjoyable in their own way. :)

Susanna,

I read those Amazon reviews and gave up on the Dixie Hemingway books after the first one also.  Just didn't sound "entertaining" at all.

I read a couple of Deirdre Martin books that had been on the TBR for months, probably years.  The Penalty Box and Power Play.  I enjoyed both of them.  Don't know why it took me so long to pick them out.

The Wives of Bowie Stone, so far interesting but kind of got a hint at the beginning of what's to come at the end and wish that didn't happen!

I picked up Jennifer Ashley Pride Mates and so far it has just been ok for me. I don't mind alpha but the mentally patting of the the little woman on the head is getting to me.

I loved Twenties Girl!

I'm reading Riding Wild by Jaci Burton.  Nothing extraordinary, but enough to keep my interest I guess.

I picked up a book and couldn't get into it at all so picked up Nosy in Nebraska by Mary Connealy. It's a compilation of 3 romance mysteries s he published under Heartsong I think(christian publisher) someone on another forum said the 3 books were cute and that they were available in one volume. I think they'll be light cute reads(hopefully!)

I read Seeing Blind by Katie Allen.  I was surprised at how good it was.  I will be looking for more books by her.

Finished Stormfire by Christine Monson earlier today (see my separate post for more info about that...). Now I'm back to my Kleypas re-read marathon. Starting Somewhere I'll Find You.

I started Marrying the Royal Marine by Carla Kelly this morning.  I'm LOVING it.  I don't even want to put it down to shower, talk to my children, go grocery shopping, anything.  <sigh>  I've read The Surgeon's Lady, but I really need to read Marrying the Captain - isn't the the first (Nana's book)?

I also have to read Maya Banks' Sweet Surrender because I promised that to someone & have to get it out in a few days.

I finished Pride Mates and it was ok and I will pick up the the next in the series. i didn't think it was as well written as Stormwalker or The Madness of Lord Ian, but i think it has the potential.

I'm reading the first of 3 mysteries in Nosy in Nebraska by Mary Connealy - Mice and Murder I think is the title. cutesy story but can tell the Heartsong method of being preachy! I guess they gotta start it early on since it's only 160 something pages tradesize in the reprint!

I finished 2 books last night:  Tempt Me If You Can (Sinclair Brothers, Bk 2) and Faith & Fidelity.

I'm now reading Nothing But Trouble.  I've got something in my car to read at lunchtime but I've forgotten the name!

I'm about 2/3 through With a Twist by Deirdre Martin, and it's just ok.  The first one, Just a Taste, was also just ok, so I don't know why I'm reading this one...except that I have the 3rd one, Straight Up, on my TBR.  That one takes place in Ireland, so I want to read that one, but have this weird thing about reading series books in order.  I am not really liking the hero in With a Twist.  Didn't like the heroine in the last book, and she is better in this one, but I'm just not seeing the chemistry- it seems forced.

Not sure what's up next.  Maybe a non-romance- I should read one of the culinary memoir type books I have on my TBR, since I'm in the Food for Thought swap, but I have some fiction books I can use for that if I dont' have time.

Lesley I've read some of Martin's - 2 I think - about the dog sitter/walker and the one with the fireman..I liked them ok and have some of her others but they weren't so great I just had to sit down and go through them all like I did with some other authors. I f I can find where they're hdiing I'll probably pull them towards the front for a night shift read.

just finished l unch and errands so time to get comfy and do some reading!

I picked up Liz Carlyle's Tempted All Night. I liked Phae from Never Romance a Duke and I liked Carlyle's writing. So I thought I would give this one a try and so far, it has been very solid. I like Tristain, he is coming off as a bit of male fluff, but we know he has some steel under all that pretty. guess I will have to see if Ms. Phae can bring it. :-)

I'm nearly finished with Of Mice and Murder ..want to read the next 2 in the book but will probably try to read Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts since that book is due at the library either Friday or Saturday and I can't renew it then get back to the other 2 stories since they're pretty easy to follow.

Finally finishing up Simply Scandalous. I think I may start Patience next. I need to to be a home book, I'm pretty sure trying to read it at the gym would make me die of embarrassment.

I finished up Seducing the Highlander by Emma Wildes.  It was good.  I'm still working on a review for Goodreads.   Also still reading The Mammoth Book of Irish Romance.  To be honest, I'm a little disappointed with it.  Only read 1 story so far that was entertaining to me.

I finished Of Mice..And Murder by Mary Connealy - 2 more to go in the Maxie Mouse mysteries. I'm about halfway through Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts and it's pretty good. I'm not wild about the heroine but oh well..makes the reading easy since I don't care about her LOL! I think Mac is the only one of the women worth a crap.
