New Week!

Started Catherine Anderson's Lucky Penny....was in the mood for a historical western and so far it is fitting the bill.

I read Lucky In Love by Jill Shalvis.  I LOVED it!  I sat down with it around 8pm and stayed up until 1:30am to read it straight through.  For once, the thing that really hooked me was the heroine.   Mallory was such a great character.  Most of the time, especially in romance, a "good girl" sweetheart heroine comes across as too vulnerable or too sickeningly sweet.  Mallory was just so... normal.  She was calm and funny and didn't have a "woe is me" attitude.  I loved how much she and Ty wanted each other, despite knowing they were all wrong for each other!  What a great addition to the series.

I finished Unclaimed by Milan over the weekend. LOVED it, loved it, loved it! The only thing I didn't love was towards the end when she tried to push him away (for his own good of course), I got a little frustrated. But then I got it. It made sense. It bothered the hero, and then he got it too. It was just one of those things that she had to handle for herself. And I admired her for it. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until I get a copy of Unraveled. <sigh>. She just writes such great characters, and such great feeling!

Next up is Lori Foster's A Perfect Storm.

Tonya, wait until you read Unraveled...Smite was the best of the lot and I adored all of the Turner boys, but Smite got the brunt of his mama's crazy and so his story to me is the most heart-wrenching.

I agree with Keri.  You can't take the book at face value, and reading all the previous books is almost mandatory to "get" Smite's story.

Of of Season I know, but I'm reading Small Town Christmas by Jill Shalvis / Hope Ramsay / Katie Lane.

ETA: Finished the Jill Shalvis story - so good!  I love Lucky Harbor.  I'm going to continue and read Lucky in Love by Shalvis now.

I've spent the last week reading the first 9 Psy-Changeling books from Nalini Singh.  They're good, but I think I'm burnt out.  I really want to get to Hawke & Sienna's story, but I'm almost glad that I don't have it yet because I think I need a break from them.

I may turn to Courtney Milan's Unclaimed.  I loved Ash's story, but I had a hard time getting into this one the first time out.  Maybe I'm ready now, but I also have Jill Shalvis' At Last.  Oh, the choices a girl has to make!

God I want to read, I want to read so bad. My uncle died last night after 4 days of waiting for it to happen. I am either in a daze or crying. Not to unload on you all or anything lol I just....wish I could escape in a book but....I dunno...I might try to before bed. I still have Moon's Fury to finish.

Sorry for your loss, Ashley, and hope you can lose yourself in a good book for at least a little while.

I took a mini vacay to Deep Creek, Md. over the weekend, and got to finish another fantastic Kristen Ashley, Sweet Dreams. God, these books are good! And now I can't get into anything else, although I'm trying to read Making Waves by Cathryn Fox/Jaci Burton.

Gina, you make me want to try a Kristen Ashley book.  I guess I'll have to put them on my Nook wishlist.

I read Molly Harper's Driving Mr. Dead and it was a quirky fun short ebook. Had me laughing out loud at some of the things that would happen to Miranda. Those are the kinds of things that would happen to me. Her and Collin made a cute opposites attract kind of couple. You know she is a walking disaster and he is OCD about his surroundings. Chaos isn't his friend, but he sure wants Miranda to be.

Renee, all credit goes to the other Renee — she had been pushing those books in the Hot & Steamy box, so I just had to pick one up and try it. Check her website for series information, but I started out with The Gamble from the Colorado Mountain Men series.

Finished up A Perfect Storm. It was okay. Now I need to read Perils of Pleasure  - bk 1 of the Pennyroyal Green series.

I checked out the Kristen Ashley book too. Only problem is I have a Kindle. I'll have to see if Amazon has any. I'm sure they do, right? And now, based on Missy's "10 star review", I'll have to check out that book too! On the up-side though, I've been cleaning house on Mt. TBR pretty good lately! wink

I have read a couple of KAs, but the lack of editing drives me crazy, so I can't read her books back to back.

I'm sure you can buy through Amazon, but they are all available at Smashwords, too. And if you sign up for KA's newsletter, she gives you coupons for all of her books. :)

Today I finished reading Jill Shalvis's Lucky in Love.    Freakin' awesome!  I'd give it more than 5 stars easily.    And now I'm reading the next one At Last because I just fell in love with Amy and Matt.  I can't wait to see where they end up.
