long night at work and I can't seem to focus on any book. I tried True Valor by Dee Henderson and I swear I can't focus on who's who..think there are brother sister combos dating or wanting to date? still not sure and the heroine is a fighter pilot and just read through more technical crap on landing on a carrier than I cared to know..I want to read it but think I need something a bit lighter. Think I'll try Exposure by Susan Andersen but dunno..the way I'm feeling I may just surf the net between work and not think too much...

eta: ok I think Exposure might do the trick!

Oops posted in wrong week, here it is again

I speeded through The Woman (Settler's Mine 3) by Mechele Armstrong last night. It was ok.....as in the other 2, failed to fulfill its potential. Don't buy it new! I don't know why I keep reading her books.

Today I am going to read one story from Four Dukes and a Devil. Not sure why there is an urban fantasy stuck in there with the rest. That's the only one I'm interested in. Then I've got to read another game book, will read My Lupine Lover by Stormy Glenn, which is paranormal m/m. I feel certain I will like it, as I have liked her others in this series.

I have so many game books to read, I won't get to the books I wanted to read this month. Drat!

I'm liking Exposure a lot!I'm not wild about the suspense element but the story has definitely caught my attention! hope I can put it down to sleep!

I am reading my Cindy Bonner books, all four, in reverse order:  Right from Wrong, The Passions of Ellie O'Barr and then the two Lily books.  Good reads.  I wouldn't buy them, but I am glad I read them.  Interesting romances in each one.  Doomed romances, where love must prevail over everyone's social conventions that say, "No, no".  My favorite type of love stories, next to mail order brides, of course.

I finished Redstone Ever After by Justine Davis.  I liked it.  Its part of a series, the ending actually, but can be read as a standalone since there's quite a bit of history being rehashed.   4 stars.

Just about done with Pieces of Sky by Kaki Warner.  I think its going to take me awhile to write a review on this one.  So much going on and its so emotional.

I am reading Sweet Persuasion by Maya Banks.  I'm just not into it.  I guess the whole sexual slavery thing doesn't do it for me.  Damon has her walking around his house naked 24/7 (she has to ask permission to wear clothes) so he can "enjoy her beauty", even in front of his staff and colleagues.  The scene I'm reading right now has her going down on him (she's naked, of course) while he's having a business meeting with two other men in his office.

I guess I'm just not into hardcore "ownership" like that.  Some dom/sub can be hot, hot, hot, and I like the premise of him owning her and taking care of all of her wants/needs, etc.  I just don't like the way it's playing out.  It's not romantic to me at all.

This is why I was so apprehensive to read the Maya Banks book I just read. Her erotic books just do no appeal to me at all, so I was worried lol Thankfully it seems the one I read, and it's series, is nothing like her erotica. No multiple person sex, no bdsm...lol

I'm reading an older Linda Howard "Open Season".  She's an author I'm just discovering and like very much.

Michelle -  I love Maya Banks, and have read the whole "Sweet" series thus far, and yes, the domination in "Persuasion" was a bit much for me, too.  If that bothers  you, you probably won't like "Temptation" either.  The couple are very s&M and he doesn't mind inviting several friends over to share her with.  Kind of icked me out.  I still can't wait for the rest of the series, though.

Susanna - I thought Exposure was terrific, too.  The characters were a bit over the top, but it was a great story.

I'm about halfway through Exposure by Susan Andersen. boy I had to make myself put the book down and go to sleep this morning! I sure hope work is slow enough to finish tonight!

I need to go through my erotic romance and post all the Banks and Hart, etc that I know aren't gonna me my cuppa tea..I only like playful/light bsmnot the hardcore stuff I got hold of once (and from what I've readfrom others that probably wasn't even hard core!)

oops guess we were posting at the same time Renee! I loved Open Season once I got past the opening scene wtih the illegals and murder...ick..the book was funny though! esp the condom scenes!

I just finished Liz Carlyle's No True Gentleman and it was a real keeper for me. This is the 2nd in her Rutledge series and I really liked Max and Cat as a couple. The secondary characters almost overtook the book, because they were all such a hoot.

Cant make up mind to go ahead and finish up Bentely's story, the last book in this series or go ahead and finish up Quinn's story, Broken

I just started When Pleasure Rules by J. K. Beck. I really liked the first, so I hope this one is just as good.

Ok, the heroine was annoying me already so I switched for now to Siren Song by Cat Adams lol

Just finished Finding Perfect by Susan Mallery.  It was good but if it's the last Fool's Gold book  I'm a little disappointed. It seems like there were some things she left hanging and if there aren't going to be any more books why even put them in this book. Maybe It's just me or I missed something. I checked her website but didn't find any info. Anyone else know if this was the last book?

Renee - Yeah, after reading the description from the back cover and some reviews, I actually passed on accepting a Wish List request for Sweet Temptation.  I was bummed because Micah seemed yummy in the previous books, but the whole dom/sub & inflicting pain is not for me!  On a side note, I'm a fellow Wylie person, only I'm in the Wylie area in Abilene, TX.

Keri, have you read A Woman of Virtue yet? There's a bit of Bently in that (best part, IMO.)  I waited to read everything else before getting to his story and was glad I did.

No Willa and I wish that I had read that first, because I now know that that particular story has quite a few characters in the Rutledge trilogy. I am trying to locate that book at my local UBS, as we speak.

Finished Luke: Armed and Dangerous by Cheyenne McCray and liked it.  I think I preferred Zack a bit more though.  I can't wait until the third book comes out!

Right now I am reading Forbidden Fantasies by a bunch of authors, McCray being one of them.  Some of the stories appeal to me, but two of them I skipped.  I am just not into vampires or aliens.

Don't know what I'll read after Forbidden.

Just finished Forever and Ever. I'd say it's the worst book by Gaffney I've yet read, which means it was still pretty darned good. The bar is very high. :-)

Think I'll start the new Rachel Gibson next, just got it from the library.

Susanna, that is one of my all time favorite books of hers. I loved Elvis!

I finished Shiloh Walker's Broken and I LOVED IT! I knew Quinn's book was going to be a tear jerker because of his first 11 years. I gave it 5 stars and my review is on GRs.

I need some more books like Exposure! or heroes like Elvis! big tough guy melted with her and the little girl..and this kid was actually unobnoxious for a 3 yr old. makes me wanna move out to that island and live there!

eta: I'm making it through True Valor but it's kinda sad..a lot of letters back and forth and way too much insight into war..kinda disturbing and even her little cheat sheet dictionary in the front of the book isn't too helpful since she's still using words I'm not familar with. This one is a romance I guess but reads more like insight since they talk in person then write some letters..so far she hasn't gone down in her jet but the back says she goes down in a dogfight and he has to rescue  her. I'm guessing this series honors the military and those who serve but for me a HEA means quitting LOL no friggin' way I'd risk my life like this getting shot at, etc.

I finished Simply Sexual by Kate Pearce. Thought it was pretty good! Both the H and h were good, solid characters with an interesting story. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

This is my first Monica McCarty book, but I have a bunch other...are they worth reading?

Ashley, I was behind in reading these threads over the weekend, so I'm putting my two cents in from your post last week. ;)

I'm almost finished with Highland Outlaw by McCarty and LOVED it. It's the middle book in a trilogy about members of the Campbell family. The first one, Highland Warrior, was good, but this one beats it by a mile.
