Since Bowen was left in sort of a cliffhanger situation in the last book, I had to pick up Kresley Cole's Dark Deeds on a Winter's Night.

My urge to read has pretty much returned - I'm not quite halfway through Kate Angell's SQUEEZE PLAY

oops. got posted before finishing.

The book started a tad slow but it picked up quickly enough. There's also a secondary romance in this one which she's doing well, as well as she handled CURVEBALL'S 3-romances book.

I'm hoping I can finish the HPQ and Blaze I started over a week ago, get them into my September reading.

Gail

I finished Instant Gratification- it was good.  Felt like taking a break from Shalvis before going on to the next one, so started Cheri on Top by Susan Donovan.  I'm not very far into it, but I have liked most of the books I've read by her.

I did read part of a short lisa marie rice last night/early this morning - it's in a Secrets book...I stopped after the sex but before the shooting, etc..at least I think there's shooting in this one. read it a few years ago...like that author.

I finally finshed all of the Larissa Ione books and have breezed through the Lauren Dane "Chase" trilogy.  I'm almost halfway through the last one, "Chased."  They've been fun to read.

My reading lately has been library-driven.  I've been trying to read books from the library that finish up sets that I have.  It's good to get them read, but I do feel somewhat constrained.  I have chosen not to finish (or even start some), but I don't like the feeling of not knowing when I'll get the book back if I return it.  Obviously, this is not one of the world's greatest problems though! lol!

Next up - Jen Lancaster's If You Were Here.  I've loved her autobiograghical books, but this will be the first novel of her's that I have read.

Finished Wicked Deed and it was a wonderful read. Bowen really deserved his HEA and it was a funny, poignant book to boot.

That was a good one! I'm not loving Demon from the Dark, but it's okay. I am really looking forward to Melanthe's book though... such an intriguing set-up.

I finished Ann Jacobs' Lords of Pleasure over the weekend, and it was just as horribly bad as everyone says it is (see the "sex words that make you go ewwww" thread). I've read and liked other books of hers, so I have no idea why this one was so awful. It's worth reading just for a laugh or two.

I'm almost done with Enticed by His Forgotten Lover by Maya Banks. I can honestly say I've never read one of these series Harlequins before, and I only picked up this one because of the author. It's pretty good! Looks like it will be a series of four books, too.

I finished The Colonel's Lady by Laura Frantz and I enjoyed it.  Sherron, I know you were a bit disappointed with it, but I think its because the first two books were SOOO good, especially Courting Morrow Little.

Not sure what I'm reading next.  I'm on vacation for the next 14 days - go me!! - so I plan to get a lot of reading time in there somewhere.

Sherri - Enjoy your vacation!

I put Riptide on hold so I could read Bella Andre's Game for Love that someone was kind enough to lend to me for the Nook.  I loved it.  There wasn't much to the plot at all... basically the rich, sexy football player goes out & marries a "good girl" school teacher to please his dying grandmother.  The whole book is pretty much about Anna and Cole developing real feelings for each other in spite of the fact that their relationship was supposed to be temporary (and that they couldn't be more opposite).  I thought the whole big misunderstanding was blown way out of proportion (by Anna), but the romance was sweet and the sex was hot.  I really love a hero who insists he doesn't know what love is and then promptly falls head over heels to the point where he can't live without his heroine.

Read a quickie - Ral's Woman by Laurann Dohner.  Scifi romance but way too short.

I am reading Bunny And The Bear by Eve Langlais.  If you like Shelly Laurenston I think you would this book!  Very silly but sexy at the same time.  I mean you can't go wrong with a bunny shifter who rescues the bear shifter she loves!!

I just finished KC's Dark Needs at Nights Edge and I really liked it. The ending was sigh worthy. :-) Now on to Dark Desires After Dusk, Cade story. Yea!

Lucky Sherri, you have lots of fun on your vacation.

Willa, I guess I haven't met Melanthe yet. I am just loving this whole series. The wisecracks and sarcasm are just right up my alley.

I've spent the last couple of nights skimming through the 'highlights' of Calista's Men by Jory Strong - one of my favorite erotic romances!

DDAD....sigh....what an awesome read!! Cade just blew me away as a hero. Makes me want to go out and find my own horns to get a hold of. Then we had a teaser scene with Rydstrom...wow!  Do you think that Nix will ever get her own book? I hope so, she needs somebody to protect her from everybody. I hate that they call her the name they do, but then they stand in line to use her talent.

I thought the same thing when i read this one! Thats my absolute fave book of the whole IAD series! I hope Nix is going to get her own book. She's such an.....interesting....character, lol, so she's going to have to have a pretty special hero to balance her out.

Thanks Keri!  So far I am.

Yesterday also read Kidnapping Casey by Laurrann Dohner - a dud, and A Broken Bond by Stacey Kennedy - a wallbanger.   I started on, again, Outlander, in preparation for the next book hopefully coming out in 2012.  Just reading it a little bit at a time.

Almost done with When You Love Someone by Susan Johnson. It's really good, although one scene was definitely off-putting for the hero. I can't remember if it was in this thread or not, but someone complained recently about the hero sleeping with his mistress, then running off to the heroine and having sex with her without washing or anything. Although, under the circumstances, he didn't think he'd ever see the heroine again, it was still disturbing. Aside from that, Darley's been great, though. I'll be following up this book with its companion book, When Someone Loves You, which seems to be about this book's H/h's son.

Just finished

Darkest Fire (Black Gryffon, Bk 1) by  Tawny Taylor and it was good but the "hero" was too high maintenance

Primal Heat by Crystal Jordan which was good, not great but good,

and Untamed by Crystal Jordan the first story was really good but the second one was fantastic.

Now reading Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa Medeiros and I'm really enjoying the banter between the h/h.
