Finished JRW's Rapture and I finished the book. While it wasn't my absolute fav of the series, I did in the end end up loving Mattias and believed in his redemption.

I'm nearing the end of Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor, and at this point I'm just trying to get through it so I can start Rainshadow Road.  For a short book, this one sure seems to be dragging for me.

I read Hotter than Wildfire and Nightfire by Lisa Marie Rice.  I liked them both, Nightfire just a bit more.  Unfortunately her books are all SO similar that I shouldn't have read them back to back.  Talk about cookie-cutter heroes AND plots!  And the internal dialogue and constant putting himself down by Mike was a little redundant.  I did like him and Chloe as a couple, though, and the book left me with a satisfied feeling after their HEA.  No real complaints.

Michelle I still haven't read her 3rd book in that series- guess it's Nightfire? and yep they're all very similar and I guess I've spaced it out enough since I can't remember the title! blushI think I have it in ebook probablyon my Nook which isn't charged - been reading on the kindle more lately for whatever reason.

I've read a few Love Inspireds - the last Circle of Famiy by Mia Ross which is 2nd in her series. She's a new fave I think in this line - her first one was really good too and I've pre-ordered the 3rd along with some other fave authors in this line and one new-to-me's debut. Now I've switched gears and am reading another ebook- Jennifer LeBrecque's Northern Renegade - a Harlequin Blaze that's part of a series that's so spread out I've lost track of who's who but still enjoy the series. I need to see if Vicki Lewis Thompson or Rhonda Nelson have anything out or coming out - they're my 2 faves in this line with LeBrecque's series on my radar as well.

I just bought Jayne Castle's re-print for my kindle - The Desperate Game - a series I guess she did back in the 80s or early 90s-mixed reviews but I like most of her stuff - only been a couple I didn't like and even her worst ones I generally like! I'm not near wi-fi so it hasn't loaded yet - bummer -but skimmed through my kindle and found LeBrecque's that I must have pre-ordered and forgot about! blush

I read all three of those LMR books back to back a couple months ago. They were WAY to similiar to be read that way. It kind of made them just 'ok' to me.

I finished Captive in the Dark and now I SO badly want to get the second one, but may hold off for just a little while.

Now im reading a novella, Desperate Thoughts: The Gift by Ian Dalton.

I think Rainshadow Road is better -- Christmas Eve seemed blah to me.

Not sure what I'm reading, other than a short story in a collection -- Unbound, I think. I'm sort of waiting to be inspired about my next book. I should finish up my NetGalley books, but I don't like either of them. :-(

I read White Trash Beautiful by Teresa Mummert. Awesome. I just love her writing!! Of course it's volume 1, so I'll have to wait til Lord knows when to read volume 2! Right now I'm reading Shadow of Love by I forget who.(I'll check and let you know later) It's very wordy and I find myself skimming over all of the wordiness. Otherwise it seems okay. More descriptions than dialogue though.

I'm staring Beguiling the Beauty by Sherry Thomas, very nervous that my ongoing historicals allergy will be activated. I don't *think* it will, since she's not usually a cute kind of writer but you never know...

Reading Tessa Dare's One Dance with a Duke and it has really been an awesome read. I hate that this is my last book of these series and I wish that I would have read them in order.

Shadow of Love is by Ellen Wolf - and it's still driving me crazy... the story is good, it's just the endless descriptions of everything. Ugh!

Edge of Time by Melissa Lynne Blue was like a historical Desire: angst fest with TSTL moments and eye rolling dialog.   2 stars

I just finished an AMZ freebie, The Unwanted Wife. Had some typical self-pubbed errors but was a really good read. Classic HP kind of story.

E-book of BDB #3 is available now - I wasn't quite ready to read it, wanted to give it a little time between #2, though I had put it on my WL at the digital catalog; didn't realize I'd requested it. I'll enjoy it, though, that's a given.

Also reading, finishing up an old Jill Shalvis Blaze, JUST TRY ME.... - very, very good.

I finished Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed.  Jonas was the epitome of the wounded, tortured hero.  I really loved this book.  It was so obvious that Jonas was more than the arrogant, cynical facade that he showed to the world.  Life had betrayed him over and over and he knew nobody would have his back.  Until Sidonie.  I really liked the way the author paced Jonas' seduction of Sidonie.  She went from a virginal martyr afraid of him to a woman who saw beneath his dark facade to the sensitive, lonely man within.  The one thing that I struggled with was the big misunderstanding.  I knew it was coming and it was even completely understandable, given Jonas' history.  However, I hated to see them struggle and hurt so much after everything they had been through already.  This book was emotional and romantic and touching and sexy.  Everything you could want in a romance!

I finished the The Serpent Prince and enjoyed it, but it was my least fave of the series. Is the last one any good? I also finished Finding My Faith which I enjoyed. I'm looking forward to the next one. I'm about to start Pride Mates by Jennifer Ashley.

That was my least fav too, Rebecca. By the last one, do you mean the Ice Princess? I haven't read it.

Reading Beguiling the Beauty by Sherry Thomas. Unfortunately, it reminds me a lot of Delicious, the only one of her books (up til now) that I didn't love. :-(

Missy - it is a stand alone... at least for now.  Jonas has two friends in the book and I think the next two books will be about him.  But since this is the first & they haven't been written yet, I'd say it's a stand alone.  lol   Get my drift?  I really enjoyed it.
