I'm still reading The Death of Achilles by Boris Akunin.  It's really good but I haven't had time to read.  Yesterday we put up our tree and baked Christmas cookies. I did waste a lot of time on the computer yesterday.  But I posted a bunch of books yesterday so I'm ok with that. Today I am purging Christmas decorations and stuff.  I live on an Island.  About once a month a Thrift Store from the mainland comes out and picks up stuff at your curb.  They are coming on Wed. So I'm trying to get some stuff together while I have all my plastic Christmas tubs out.  It's amazing how much crap you can accumulate after 7yrs in one house.  But we're moving next summer.  I think in Jan I'm going to have a 3 for 1 or 4 for 1 book sale.  I posted some yesterday that I've flipped through and decided I'm probably not going to read.  Once I find my living room and dining room table I'm going to flop on the couch and finish that book.  I have to mail it by Wed.  I didn't notice it was WL when I posted it-I figured I'd have time to read it!

Just finished 'wife for hire' by evanovich and it was funny. nothing at all serious about this story; just silly light reading which suited me just fine today. can't believe I read 3 stories close to this size yesterday and barely finished this one today..that's how much busier we were today and luckily it was fairly routine stuff or I'd probably still be struggling!

Just finished Dead Sexy--a Blaze by Kimberly Raye and High Stakes by Erin McCarthy--it seems I was on a vampire kick! Both were good books--I have McCarthy's 2nd and 3rd in the series ready to go. I'm also still reading All Jacked Up by Penny McCall.

I plowed right thru Jingle Bell Rock.  Excellent book!!!!  Even though the stories were short, they were pretty darned hot.  There's another Christmas anthology advertised in the back of it that I think I'm going to look up and hopefully it's in the PBS system.

I picked up The Stone Forest by Karen Harper.  I'd seen it advertised in the back of another book and had to request it.  It sounded so good!  2 sisters are abduceted, one is returned and the other simply vanishes.  Story takes place 15 years later when the heroine returns to the town she grew up in.  It's a nice, thick book so I should be reading on it for quite a while.

Lisa, I LOVED Spirited Away!  Is Into Thin Air just as good?

I'm not reading any romances this week, but I read Austenland last week (guess that kind of a combo chick lit/romance) and I highly recommend it - especially if you are a fan of Jane Austen's books.

I also listened to the audio version of Evanovich's Thanksgiving last week  (while driving to my family's Thanksgiving dinner in Iowa).   It was fluffy and cute, but definitely not up to Stephanie Plum standards.

I just finished Into Thin Air.  I wish I had a dreamy angel guy.  It was a really sweet story about eternal love.

It was the first book that I have read by this author, Cindy Miles.  It says in her bio on the cover that she is a trauma nurse. "Witnessing near-death experiences as a nurse, coupled with lifeling interest in ghosts, has given her mysterious and whimsical romances a unique twist."

I'm more of a historical reader, rather than paranormals, but I loved this story.  Put it on your wishlists!

I bought it because the cover reminded me "If Only in My Dreams" by Wendy Markham.  It is also a very sweet romance with a twist (time travel via a train).  This book is on my bookshelf if anyone is interested.

Edit:  If I remember right, it takes place at Christmas, too!

Finally finished Dangerous Games by Lora Leigh.  Good stuff!!!!  But be warned about the S&M bent to it if that's not your thing.  I didn't think it was my thing but Clint was so hot in his Alpha Male Dom role when would threaten to spank!

Last night I read:   Outlaw Jesse James (Outlaw Hearts) (Silhouette Desire, 1198) :: Cindy Gerard

It was a good book, he was a bull rider and she has been in love with him for years.  I liked it!  I love Gerard's books.   I am not sure what I will read next.  I will probably read another shot and sweet one. :)

I'm reading Suzanne Brockmann's Out of Control - Kenny and Savannah's story.  I am loving it!  I like the humor and wow Kenny is a great hero.  I can't wait to see how it ends.

Almost forgot I also read Sighs Matter by Marianne Stillings.  Very good book!

From the back of the book: It was a night of slow dances, heated looks, and for Detective Taylor McKennitt, the earth moved. Unfortunately, so did the lovely Claire...right on out the door. Not that it wasn't the hottest night of her life. In fact, the memory of Taylor's kisses, his touch, his...everything makes Claire want to leap right back into the sexy detective's bed. But the last thing she needs is to fall in love with a man in blue, even if he is irresistible. And determined. Then just when Taylor thinks he's close to getting her back into his life, a deranged killer targets Claire. Now it's Taylor's duty to protect her. And in the process, he'll win her resisting heart or die trying--which is sudenly a very distinct possibility.

Wow I just finished Out of Control and I think it was my favorite one in the series to date.  Ken Karmody was such a guy!  I loved his line "I love you an eleven" (meaning on a scale of 1 to 10).  Sigh!

I love Marianne Stillings. I'm still reading The Death of Achilles. I just have not had time to read.  It was my plan to read last night  but then my daughter wouldn't leave me alone. So we played a board game.  Then after she went to bed I could not wait to watch Desperate Housewives.  I'm hoping I can finish it tonight.  Not sure what I'm going to read next.  I'll have to peruse the WL pile and see if anything catches my fancy. Probably Elfking's Lady by Hannah Howell. I got it as part of an ebay HH bundle.  It's a WL book.  Achilles has put me in the mood for a good historical romance. I have a couple WL OOP/HTF  Hannah Howell books without ISBN#'s. If you have Elfking's Lady or  Silver Flame on WL and don't mind the no ISBN, let me know.  I haven't read them yet but I will soon.  I think there's another one too but the name escapes me at the moment.

Well I have a half hour before I have to get DD at school. I'm going to spend it reading Achilles.  They are about to go after the criminal mastermind.

Sherri, we told you you'd love Kenny's story! :-) He's my dream man...he's the best character she has IMO! He's so laid back and easygoing and nothing bothers him...perfect-a-mundo!

I haven't started another book..have my parents down visiting and been sorta headachey today.my mom picked a book off my shelf and of course it's the last 2! suzanne and megan's story in the calhoun series by nora roberts..she's ok with it though!

Susanna - I totally agree.  Kenny was the dream hero - one who WANTED a relationship to be serious.   And I felt so bad for Sam when he thought that ALyssa and Max were together!   You know the poor guy's marriage is bad but at least he tried to do the right thing by her.  I can't wait to read his entire story.  And I have a feeling the story with Molly and Jones will be good too.

Read Nancy Moser's The Good Nearby, which was pretty good.  (Finished her book Crossroads yesterday, which I think I liked slightly better, but I'm not sure why.)  I have to get them back to the library before I accrue more massive fines (argh!)--library books aren't a good deal if you miss the return or renewal dates regularly...  one of the many reasons I love PBS...

Started reading the Masque of the Black Tulip (the sequel to the Secret History of the Pink Carnation) by Lauren Willig.  Also started Ways to be Wicked by Julie Ann Long (second in her sisters trilogy).

Last night I read: The Burning Point :: Mary Jo Putney  It was a great boo.k My first from this author.  They have been divorced for 10 years and have not seen each other.  Her Dad dies and in his will they must live together for one year in order for her to get her money and for him to get her dad's business.  There is lots of pain in their past but they overcome it all and learn to love again.

Sherri, I loved Ken's book. In fact I really have liked all of them in one way or another.  I just can not read more than 2 at a time.  I am up to Max and Gina.  Maybe I will start it tonight.  (there has not been one that I would not have read)

Well I read a little bit of 'caught in the act' a lori foster story that's in a book along with anohter of her stories..think it's called 'enticed'...pretty thick but the description sounded interesting.

Sherri, Ineed to get back to the troubleshooters! I didn't continue with the series after sam and alyssa's story in the one after kenny's(my super dream guy!). max and gina haven't been my favorite but oh well. seems like one of the later books has gina and molly and someone else being kidnapped or something to do with all of them together where they have to be rescuied...can't remember the book though whre I saw this description.
