July already - the year is flying.

I've decided to make July a Harlequin Presents-only month. I have so many unread HQPs that I need to read more of them, and it's been a very long time since I've done a Presents-only month.

eta: forgot to say what I'm reading: Amy Andrews' INNOCENT 'TIL PROVEN OTHERWISE, Australian setting. Hero is lawyer who specializes in medical cases; heroine is surgeon in a wrongful death suit.

I've got a couple of new downloads but I think I'm going to go with a paranormal.  Maybe Jennifer Ashley - haven't decided yet.

I finished Anne Cambell's Untouched and I liked it. I just wish the ending could have been bulked up a bit more. I mean seeing Matthew and Grace in a setting where they were together married and happy without a sword of doom hanging over their head. We got the HEA, but after being seperated I would have liked to read them together. 3 stars for me. Started Kylie Brant's Deadly Dreams and it has already been really good. Wish I wouldn't have kept putting this one off.

Well, I finished up Faefever over the weekend. I just love these books, but damn, I do wish they'd get on with the romance part!! I picked up an old Judith McNaught A Kingdom of Dreams until I could get back home to Dreamfever. Of course nobody writes a romance quite like McNaught (imho). She writes some of the strongest and tenderest heroes ever. <sigh>

I finished Friday Mornings at Nine by Marilyn Brant- first book I've read by her.  It held my attention throughout, but now having finished it, I'd have to say it was just ok.  It was well written, the characters were well developed, but I came out of it feeling a little sad.  Also a bit dissatisfied, because one of the storylines was not really resolved.  This is why I usually stick to romances, I like the closure and the HEA, which didn't happen here.  No fault of the book or author, just me I guess.

Now I'm working on an older anthology, Bad Boys to Go, which I got out of the unmoderated romance VB awhile back mainly for the Janelle Denison  Wilde series story.  I went ahead and read the Lori Foster one first, and it was not good.  Hoping the Denison one is better, though my issue with the stories in anthologies is that they are just not long enough to do justice to the characters and story the way they should.  I have a couple of the Wilde series books on my TBR though, and I guess this story is the first of the series, so will give it a try but also try not to judge the whole series based on this one story.

I finished The Satin Sash by Red Garnier. Just wasn't feeling the connection between Toni and Heath, therefore, the book didn't sit well with me. I felt bad for poor Grey. But it did address jealousy issues in a menage quite well.

I will be an e-reading fool for the next few weeks with Courtney's challenge, so I started Sold to the Highest Bidder by Donna Alward.

I finished Hidden Talents. I liked it.  Started Into the Crossfire by Lisa Marie Rice, only about 20% into this one but really enjoying it so far!

Finished Kingdom of Dreams. Really good, but not great I guess. I am reading Simply Forbidden by Kate Pearce. Not really into it yet, but I've got to send it out for a game.

Rebecca- There is another book in the Nauti series.  It's a short one printed with Jaci Burton called Nauti and Wild.  She has a 5th book coming out in December called Nautier and Wilder.  Plus she's got the girl's stories coming out, Nauti Temptress in September.

Finished Kissin' Tell by Lorelei James and although I liked the story, I didn't love it.  I don't think Georgia's character was very well developed.  The whole class reunion thing left me kinda cold (Seriously people?  Let's act like adults!)  and everyone hating her because she wore a "purity ring" in h.s. I thought was kinda lame.

I just had UPS guy drop off the latest Maya Banks KGI series, Echoes at Dawn  two hours ago.  Of course, I haven't read the previous book yet, Whispers in the Dark, due to me getting so freaking far behind in my series books.  That book has been gathering dust in the TBR pile for 6 months now.  I will get to it by the end of the month, just as long as I stay away from the library and all the goodies they have there.

Started Black Heart by Holly Black. Weaker than the others in the series, I think.

Just can't get into the Darkest Day. I'm not feeling the love at all.

Was in the mood for a western romance, so I picked up Elaine Levine's Rachel and the Hired Gun and it was just what the doctor ordered. Been good so far.
