This is driving me nuts. Almost every book I see now is tagged sae-*something.* What does it mean?

Since tags are supposed to be used as a personal device as well as a community one, it could mean anything.

Could be someone's initials

Susan Alice Everingham? I don't bother trying to figure out tags that aren't obvious. It's someone's personal tag, and only they know what it means.

Hmmm.... well, it's just that some of the SAE tags have been used over 14,000 times. I just assumed that a lot of people were using them.

Or one really compulsive person.  It is hard to imagine, tagging 14K items yourself!    Maybe it's a group doing it and it has meaning for the group.

When I tagged a book as SAE, it said it had only been used 6 times. There are some others with sae at the end that make me suspect that it is someone's initials. The biggest I've spotted was their reminder list at just under 1400 though.

(Betsy - to find books of a certain tag, just tag one on your shelf or one of your lists, then link to the list of others with that tag from there)

Well here are a few (I guess I was wrong and mistook 1400 for 14,000): have-tbr-sae1,180    read-sae1,304      sae1,371      traded-sae183

Looks like someone's initials to me. I tag mine with my initials, such as sln_tbr, sln_hd, sln_wl, sln_rl

Looks like someone with the initials SAE has 1180 books on their TBR, has read 1304 books, etc.

I pretty much always assume that anything that doesn't readily make sense to me, is someone's personal tags and I just ignore them.

I think maybe it means Scholastic Edition, like the books that are available to buy at school bookfairs.

A lot of them are adult romance and novels.  I don't thnk would be available at scholastic book fairs. I agree that they are probably intials.

yeah, probably just someone's personal tags then. I guess not everyone gets that tags are available for everyone to read.
