Love Sookie and Argeneau. How about:

Dark Hunter...Kenyon/ Black Dagger Brotherhood...Ward/

Michelle Bardsley's vampire series/ Christine Feehan's Carpathian series/ Kerrilyn Sparks vampire series

Those are some of my favorites. I did not like Twilight...none of the above are YA.

Absolutely the Immortals after Dark Series by Kresley Cole and Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward, amazing series.

Yeah, Black Dagger Brotherhood is amazing.  I actually have to rewishlist them for my sister now, because all of her friends and herself would like to read them.

Make sure you check out the series thread.  It's a red sticky near the top.  They aren't labeled, so you won't be able to tell which ones are vampire series unless the name says so, but you'll find a ton of series there.

What are you looking for?  Romance with HEA?  Humor?  Action?  How much violence?  YA or not?  Do you want something like Sands?  More sex?  Less alpha male?

There is a red thread that lists the different series.  But each person is slightly different.

I'm new to paranormal, too, and I think the best are Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series and Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse.  I am now reading J.R. Ward's BDB (much more serious and erotic) and Patricia Briggs'  Alpha & Omega series.  I have only read the first book in BDB and in the A&O series.  Good stuff.

Also, if you want to venture away from vampires to other types of paranormal, there are tons of good series out there.

Yeah, Brenda's right. I've read Alexis Morgan's Paladin Series and just ordered the first one of her other series, The Talions.

With the series you've listed my top reccomendations would be:

-Morganiville Vampires by Rachel Caine- YA, well written but you might want to collect a few before starting since they have cliffhanger endings (except for the newest)

-Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris

-Mercy Thompson series and Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs- not vampire focused but really engaging and well written

Oh I think the Twilight threw people since it's YA.  I reccomend the Morganville series anyway, since it's just awesome YA or not.  I'd add these paranormals(not necessarily vampires) to my list above:

Guild hunters and Psy Changeling- Nalini Singh

Immortals After Dark Kresley Cole

Women of the Otherworld- Kelley Armstrong

They're WL'd authors, but adding to your list: Lora Leigh (Breeds), Shelly Laurenston (Pride series), Patrice Michelle (The Kendrians), Elizabeth Lapthorne (Rutledge Werewolves), Diane Whiteside (Texas Vampires),  Kendra Leigh Castle (Highland series). Good luck in choosing your next series (I just keep adding to Mt. TBR:)

I read so many series sometimes its hard to keep track of them.  I'm always on the look out for something new to read, especially PNR,  my fav's are vamps and shapeshifters.  So I try to recommend the lesser known series for those like me that are impatienlty waiting for the next BDB, IAD, VA, and Sookie fix.

One series that I read thats not mentioned much is Alexandra Ivy's Guardians of Eternity series.  The first book was good, but I've found that her books just get better and better. It has immortals, vamps, shapeshifters, oracles and a whole bunch of different paranormal mixed bag characters.   Check it out.

Another lesser known series thats not mentioned quite as often is Jacqueline Frank's Nightwalker series.

Book one is "Jacob"

anyway.  my 2 cents.    :)
