A wish list book was just offered to me. I don't have any credits, so I was going to buy one in order to accept it. However, the sender just sent me a PM telling me that it is an ARC, which should not have been posted, but that's another issue. I do not want an ARC. She cannot cancel the order until I accept, but I do not want to have to spend money to buy a credit in order to accept the book just so she can cancel. If I decline the request, I'll lose my place on the WL.

Am I stuck?

I could buddy you a credit if you buddy it back when she cancels.

Thanks so much, Rick!  I'll buddy it back to you as soon as she cancels.

Credit returned. Thanks, again.

what should happen is that you accept and then she is supposed to cancel it so that way you don't lose your place in line. she's supposed to be aware that she's not supposed to post an ARC

Yeah, I let her know that she shouldn't post ARCs into the system. She seemed aware of that rule in her PM, just chose not to follow it, I guess.

Janelle, it's against PBS rules to post ARCs to our bookshelves, and if she knows that and ignores the rules, the PBS Team would probably like to have a chat with her. They take that pretty seriously.

I was just going to say the same as Jennifer.  Janelle, please send Feedback to  the Team and let them know about this. ARCs can be offered in the Book Bazaar, for credit, but they cannot be posted into the FIFO system.

Ok, I sent feedback. I wasn't sure if I should, but I figured it can't hurt.

Seems more frequent that members post ARC's FIFO and then ask the requestor for approval, or just send a surprise to unsuspecting members.  TPTB don't want them in the system, so reporting is probably a good idea.
